Background / History

Dai Huabin belongs to the White Tiger Duke’s household and treats its social hierarchy as grounds for humiliating Huo Yutong. He recognizes her as a maid’s daughter and claims that he previously told his mother to sell her. Huo Yutong regards him as one of those responsible for her mother’s death 29.

Before becoming Tang Qi’s enemy, he imagines recreating the original Shrek Seven Devils: himself as Dai Mubai, Zhu Lu as Zhu Zhuqing, and Tang Qi as Tang San. He believes that his and Zhu Lu’s talents surpass those of their predecessors 29.

Personality

Dai Huabin is proud, status-conscious, and contemptuous of people he considers inferior. His enthusiasm for a heroic future quickly gives way to hostility when Tang Qi rejects him. Rather than acknowledge the gap in their strength, he treats his defeat as a humiliation that must be overturned 29 59.

His insecurity makes him controlling toward Zhu Lu. He interprets exhaustion as disloyalty, accuses her of wanting a stronger partner, and eventually blames and strikes her after their defeat. When she leaves, he begs her to return, then redirects responsibility for the breakup toward Tang Qi 59 70 71.

His brotherhood with Bei Bei and Xu Sanshi combines genuine cooperation with self-interest. He enters a dangerous rescue partly to preserve their possible fusion skill and his chances against Dai Yueheng. After Bei Bei saves him, learning Bei Bei’s connection to the Dragon God Douluo markedly strengthens his resolve to repay him 86 87.

Shrek Square Confrontation

Dai Huabin runs against the crowd and crashes into Tang Qi’s Blue Silver Wood shield. After recognizing and insulting Huo Yutong, he is slapped by Tang Qi. His retaliatory White Tiger Vajra Transformation ends with a hammer strike that knocks him unconscious 29.

Freshman Assessment Tournament

Transferred with Zhu Lu into Zhou Yi’s Class One, Dai Huabin trains obsessively to recover his pride. Repeated fusion practice exhausts Zhu Lu, but he rejects her requests for rest and accuses her of wanting to abandon him 33 59.

His team defeats Ning Tian’s team after deploying the Hell White Tiger. Tang Qi shields Ning Tian’s group with a Blue Silver Fortress, and Mu Jin stops Huabin from attacking it again. Despite the intervention, Du Weilun declares Huabin’s team the winner 64 65.

In the final, Tang Qi counters Huabin’s individual attacks, traps the Hell White Tiger, and defeats it even after the Berserk enhancement. Huabin blames Zhu Lu and slaps her. When he attempts to strike her again, Tang Qi knocks him away with a thrown hammer; Zhu Lu rejects Huabin and leaves 69 70.

Anti-Tang Qi Brotherhood

Following the breakup, Dai Huabin joins Bei Bei and Xu Sanshi’s alliance. Their shared Martial Soul Resonance raises hopes of a three-person fusion, leading him to dismiss his former dependence on Zhu Lu 71.

He accompanies the pair to Heaven Dou City while Bei Bei secretly follows Tang Ya. When Bei Bei and Xu Sanshi argue, Huabin attempts to mediate by appealing to their brotherhood 75.

Bei Bei’s Rescue and Injury

When Evil Soul Masters capture Bei Bei, Dai Huabin initially hesitates outside their hideout. He nevertheless enters with White Tiger Vajra Transformation, and Xu Sanshi directs him to free Bei Bei 86.

An attacker bypasses Xu Sanshi and repeatedly whips Huabin. A strike between his legs destroys one testicle, prompting Bei Bei to break his restraints and overwhelm the attacker. Bei Bei subsequently threatens suicide to persuade Xuan Zi to send Huabin straight back to Shrek for treatment 87 89.
