Archmage Laduka frowned at the Mana Airship in the distant sky. It had merely shuddered briefly before stabilizing and continuing its high-speed flight, seemingly unaffected. His heart sank.
The Thunder's Wrath he had just cast was technically only a ninth-level spell, but thanks to his exceptional mastery of wind magic and his tremendous mana as an Archmage, its power far exceeded that of an ordinary ninth-level spell.
Even if it could not compare to the seemingly world-destroying power of a forbidden spell, it was not far behind.
Yet this tremendously powerful spell had struck the Mana Airship directly, only to be completely neutralized by a halo that suddenly appeared around it. In the end, the airship had merely rocked twice in midair without suffering any actual damage.
How was that even possible!
However shocked he was, Archmage Laduka did not stop moving. Maintaining his tremendous flight speed, he spread his hands and began gathering power for a true forbidden spell.
Since a ninth-level spell could not threaten this Mana Airship, he would use a higher-level forbidden spell!
No matter what, he had to stop these Mana Airships from escaping!
As the Archmage specifically enlisted by the imperial Military Department to safeguard the expeditionary army's rear, his earlier failure to protect the supply depot from these Mana Airships' surprise attack had already been a dereliction of duty and a tremendous humiliation.
