The other students, who had been examining the Mana Airship's interior, all turned to look at the girl.

If what Lucian said was true, then this girl had needlessly kept them in danger longer.

Why had she done that?

"That's right. I could do it." The girl showed no intention of denying or concealing it and readily admitted it.

"Then why did you leave it to me?" Lucian continued to demand.

"Because you said you could give it a try, so I let you try." The girl shrugged, her tone casual.

Her unconcerned attitude thoroughly infuriated Lucian.

"What if I couldn't do it? Wouldn't that mean we had to stay in that dangerous place even longer? If something had gone wrong, someone could have died!"

The girl seemed a little surprised that Lucian was genuinely angry. She blinked, looked him up and down, and chuckled.

"Heh, you really are an interesting young man. What if you couldn't do it? Simple. I would have taken over and sent the signal out. As for something going wrong..." She gestured at everyone aboard the Mana Airship. "Isn't everyone safe now?"

Seeing that the girl remained indifferent even after he had pointed out the problem, Lucian grew angrier still.

"Now is now, but what if something had gone wrong back there? What made you so sure you could keep all of us safe?"

The other students watched the angry Lucian with growing unease. Two male students immediately came over and pulled him away.

"Hey, what are you doing? She rescued all of us! What's with that attitude?"

"Exactly. Without her, we might never have gotten out. How can you act like this?"

Lucian forcefully shook off their hands. Although he said nothing more, he continued glaring at the girl, his face full of anger.
