"According to the statistics, the magic communication network has now been installed in all thirty-six provinces of the Candel Empire, and mana signal coverage has exceeded eighty-three percent of its total territory. We can say that we have preliminarily achieved our original goal of 'making long-distance magic communication possible anywhere in the Candel Empire'..."
"Hold on..." Xu Yi raised a hand to interrupt Freya's report. "Coverage exceeds eighty-three percent, which means seventeen percent still has no mana signal coverage. How does that count as making long-distance magic communication possible 'anywhere'?"
Freya could not help rolling her eyes, but immediately composed herself and cleared her throat. "The areas that still lack mana signal coverage either have terrain too difficult for us to erect mana signal towers, or face various local obstacles that have repeatedly delayed construction or prevented it from starting at all."
At this point, Freya paused, her brows drawing together slightly.
"That's strange, though. Why would something like that happen? There are actually people who don't want mana signal network coverage? Don't they think long-distance communication would be convenient?"
Xu Yi shrugged, a trace of resignation in his voice. "There's nothing we can do. Even now, rumors are still circulating among the public that installing mana signal towers will allow people's minds to be controlled. When erecting mana signal towers, we've encountered this sort of resistance not just in the Candel Empire, but in other countries many times as well."
"Seriously? In this day and age, people still believe things like that?" Freya's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Remember, don't overestimate the general public's understanding," Xu Yi told Freya earnestly. "They're easily stirred up and deceived, so it's hardly surprising that they believe things with absolutely no basis in fact. Besides this, I've seen plenty of things even more unbelievable.
