These new academies would all follow the Xinfei Academy model. Rather than traditional academies for Mages, they would teach a wide range of basic knowledge to give students a solid foundation.
If one had to make a comparison, they were somewhat like elementary and middle schools on Earth.
The biggest difference was that the knowledge taught in Earth's elementary and middle schools concerned scientific and technological theories on Earth, whereas these academies would teach theories of magical science.
As research related to the magic industry sector on the Sains Continent grew increasingly advanced, research into the various theories of magical science also became deeper and more refined.
Now, if a child wanted to become a Mage, they would no longer begin by learning to wield magic directly as they had in the past. Instead, they would start with basic subjects such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Only after developing a general scientific outlook would they truly begin studying magic.
The drawback of this approach was that students might have to study for many years before they could actually learn to wield magic.
Its advantage, however, was that every student had a chance of eventually mastering magic through study. Even if they could not learn to cast spells themselves like the Mages of the past, they could still acquire other related skills through their studies and find suitable work.
With the magic industry sector still developing rapidly on the Sains Continent, they had no reason to worry that their skills would have no use.
