"Mr. President, what do we do now?" Aboard the departing Mana Airship, Avita stared intently at Xu Yi and asked anxiously, "If we leave Akali in their hands, I... I'm really worried."
"What? You didn't think I was afraid of Duchess Windsor and had no choice but to retreat?" Xu Yi asked, feigning surprise.
"Mr. President, at a time like this, could you please stop joking?" Avita gave Xu Yi a reproachful look. "Don't I know what kind of person you are? You would never abandon Akali."
Xu Yi smiled faintly. "All right, no more jokes. You're right. There's no way I could abandon Akali and the others. If word got out, how could I stay on as president? Hmm... I'm not afraid of this Duchess Windsor. It's just that, judging by Count Duoer's behavior earlier, he probably thinks he has someone backing him now and won't accept my threats. If I push him too hard, it might put Akali and the others in danger instead."
"Then what do we do?" Avita's delicate brows knitted tightly. "Count Duoer won't respond to persuasion or threats. How are we supposed to rescue them?"
"Don't worry. Count Duoer captured Akali and the others because he wants to negotiate terms with me, of course. Otherwise, doing this would be pointless. Until we've reached an agreement, he won't do anything to them, so we still have enough time to consider our response."
Xu Yi pondered briefly, took a sheet of paper, and wrote a passage on it. Then he folded it, stirred the mana within his body, and moments later inscribed a Magic Sealing Array over the opening of the folded paper.
With two of these Magic Sealing Arrays protecting it, anyone other than a mage who knew how to undo the seals would trigger
