His figure passed through the churning blue vortices that filled the sky, his body steeped in damp cold and the heat of battle.
The hurricane tore at the edges of his armor with piercing shrieks. Torn-up stones and Xenos remains swirled within its eye, like an endless feast of storms.
He stepped onto the soft, storm-scoured ground. He had barely found his footing when a Rangdan Xenos lunged at him from the flank.
The Xenos moved with uncanny speed, as though it had already anticipated where its prey would land. Its claws traced a murky arc straight toward Guilliman's throat.
Guilliman did not even break his stride.
He drew the Sword of Truth from his waist with a backhand motion. The blade that had accompanied him as he personally beheaded enemies on countless battlefields traced a bright silver arc through the eerie blue light, slicing through the side of the Xenos's neck with effortless precision.
The blade passed through flesh with unnatural ease, as though cutting a sheet of thick, thoroughly soaked paper.
The Xenos did not even have time to roar before it crashed to the ground. Its limbs twitched a few times, kicking up gray-blue dust.
At the same time, the Bolter mounted beneath his Hand of Dominion swept the surrounding area.
The heavy reports of Bolt rounds cracked through the storm like thunder. Each round trailed fire as it hurtled unerringly toward the shadows surging in from every direction.
Dozens of approaching Rangdan Xenos exploded into clouds of bloody mist. Their blue-black flesh blossomed like flowers in the wind, blooming and vanishing in an instant.
