The Shadow of the Emperor hovered silently in the depths of the Warp, like a coffin forgotten amid an eternal storm.

The former flagship of the Raven Guard Legion no longer bore any resemblance to the Imperial warship it had once been.

Layer upon layer of warped organic matter covered its hull. Growths resembling black feathers sprouted from the gaps between its armor plates, trembling faintly in the undying light of Chaos that filled the Warp.

A layer of dark red crystal encased the ram at its prow, like a blade soaked in blood that had since congealed.

Most of its viewports and observation ports had been sealed by matter growing from within the hull. Only a handful still let out a faint glimmer of light.

A terrifying Warp Storm surrounded the immense ship, like a funeral that would never end.

Churning colors swirled, collided, and tore apart around the hull, sometimes coalescing into distorted faces, sometimes dispersing into clouds like scraps of torn cloth.

Countless Chaos Daemons surrounded the massive warship, cavorting and slaughtering one another.

They circled and tumbled around it, tearing into each other like flies swarming a rotting corpse.

Their laughter and shrieks mingled, penetrating the ship's armor plates and seeping into every compartment.

Yet not a single daemon dared truly approach the warship.

They could cavort, they could kill, and they could parade their madness to their hearts' content around the immense vessel.

But whenever one of them grew too excited and strayed close to the hull, the other daemons would let out a chorus of piercing warnings.

They all knew that something they wanted no part of lurked in the depths of that warship.

Corax, Primarch of the Raven Guard Legion, was hidden within.

His was a name that even the Warp itself remembered.
