The bridge of the Shadow of the Emperor lay directly exposed to the eternally churning Warp Storm after its Gellar Field failed.

This place had once been the nerve center of the Raven Guard Legion. Now, the powers of Chaos had utterly consumed it.

The enormous dome that had once offered a view outside the bridge was long gone, replaced by a gaping breach open to the void.

The undying colors of the Warp flooded in, swirling, settling, and roiling through the ruined space before congealing into a mottled membrane on the metal floor.

The areas that had once housed countless control consoles and tactical observation instruments now held only corroded debris, tangled with the flesh growing from the walls.

The consoles had warped into structures resembling twisted ribs. The monitors looked like hollowed-out eye sockets, and cables hung like severed blood vessels, dripping some viscous fluid.

Here, the power of the Warp was more concentrated than anywhere else aboard the warship. It was also the place most Chaos Space Marines, and even daemons, feared above all others.

Those Space Marines who had embraced Chaos, those beings reshaped into twisted creations by the Warp, could roam, howl, and slaughter in any other compartment, but they would never set foot on this bridge.

The Warp energy gathered here was dense enough to tear apart any creature immersed in it.

Any Chaos Space Marine who entered would have his body filled with horrific Chaos power in an instant, then either burst apart and die or become a mindless Chaos Spawn.

Only a handful of survivors could escape, but their minds were no longer intact. All that remained were hollow bodies and a vague instinct for hunger.

At the center of the bridge, the surging Warp energies cast an ever-shifting light.
