The Herald of the Holy Word

Lorgar stood in the center of the bridge, clad in golden armor. His gaze rested on none of the tactical displays, but instead reached toward the distant, dark void, already riddled with wounds torn open by war.

He had sensed Corax.

That power was like a black tide rising from the depths of an ocean, distant yet distinct.

It carried a familiar presence, something wholly fused with the Warp, that made Lorgar's back involuntarily tense.

He knew Corax was here, that he had already entered his hunting grounds.

Lorgar remained silent for a moment, then slowly closed his eyes.

He examined his own condition. The rift between his soul and body had yet to fully heal, and still throbbed with a dull ache.

That power flowed through his psychic channels with a slight sluggishness.

"Now that I'm away from Colchis, I can wield less than half the power I had before..."

"My soul and body still haven't fully merged..."

But that would not stop him.

Lorgar opened his eyes, his gaze sharpening once more.

He had no time to wait until he returned to his peak.

Corax had already arrived at Bakka, at the edge of his battlefield. Lorgar could sense those ravenlike eyes in the darkness.

He had to go and see for himself.

After a moment's consideration, Lorgar gave his orders. "Hercules, go reinforce the Star Fortress."

His voice was quiet, yet carried an unquestionable authority.

Standing to one side of the bridge, Hercules raised his head at the order and silently nodded.

He stepped out of the ranks, looking like a moving fortress beneath the bridge lights.

"Seras, Royst, go support Cestus," Lorgar continued.

Third Chapter Commander Seras and Librarian Royst nodded, then left the bridge to lead their forces out.
