"Just what I had hoped for, Captain Tarvitz." Sergeant Chelast responded with a regulation military salute.

His gaze lingered briefly on Tarvitz's resolute face in a gesture of respect, then shifted to the eager Lucius beside him. A barely perceptible glint of sharpness flashed in his eyes.

"What is our next assignment? Or, more specifically, what duties do you require our Word Bearers squad to perform, Captain Tarvitz? We are eager to fulfill our duties as soon as possible and live up to our father's expectations," Chelast continued.

Captain Tarvitz folded his arms across his chest, his Artificer Armour making a faint scraping sound.

Then he shook his head, his long white hair swaying slightly.

"There are no urgent assignments, Sergeant Chelast. By decree of the great Primarch, your foremost task at present is to familiarize yourselves with the Will of Eternity and interact with members of our Legion."

"For now, we must remain here patiently on standby and await further instructions. The Primarch's wisdom is far-reaching. He has his reasons for these arrangements," Tarvitz answered calmly.

"On standby? Ha!" Lucius chuckled, breaking the brief silence.

"You heard him, Brother Chelast. The great Primarch requires us to wait. But if we do not use that idle time to hone our skills, would that not be a waste of a warrior's life?"

"Since there is no immediate assignment, why not let a conversation between blades truly deepen the friendship and understanding between brothers of our two Legions?"

"That would be more meaningful than any hollow ceremonial pleasantries, would it not? I believe both our Primarch and your father would welcome it."

Chelast fell silent for a moment after hearing Lucius's words. His Helmet dipped slightly, as though he were rapidly weighing his options.
