Chelast's low, urgent voice crackled through the communicator built into Lucius's helmet, backed by the roar of Bolters and the splatter of xenos slime.

"Brother Lucius, we have a situation here. The guards in the storage depot... aren't human. Repeat, they aren't human!"

Lucius stood in the middle of the broad bridge leading to the Command Room. Major Maas still wore his standardized smile as he walked half a step ahead and to one side, attentively guiding him.

At Chelast's report, the corners of Lucius's mouth curved into a cold smile beneath his Helmet.

"Is that so? Very well." His reply was casual, as though he were commenting on the weather.

Before the words had faded, Lucius moved in the thousandth of a second when Major Maas seemed to instinctively turn his head at a slight tremor in the bridge.

The hand resting on his sword hilt became a blur. The Power Sword left its sheath with a shrill, piercing hum, its blade flashing like purple lightning tearing through space as it swept horizontally at a speed the naked eye could barely follow!

There was no expected dull sound of a blade cutting through flesh, nor the sharp crack of breaking bones.

The instant the blade passed through him, Major Maas's body burst like a balloon filled with green slime!

But what erupted was not blood. Instead, a thick cloud of green blood mist exploded outward, giving off a strangely sweet, rank smell!

The mist spread, with no human organs or bone fragments visible within it. Only scraps resembling plant fibers fluttered down.

Lucius stood with his sword lowered and elegantly flicked away green slime that was not actually on the blade, watching the impossible scene before him with some surprise.

"Hmm? No blood?" he murmured, more curious than shocked.
