Chelast gripped the cold incendiary bomb tightly, his thumb pressed hard against the safety pin as he held it above the giant Tree's exposed, pulsing wound.

He could clearly feel the almost tangible psychic waves radiating from the vines surrounding him, a mixture of anger and fear.

Those twisted tentacles writhed wildly in the air like a nest of enraged snakes, their tips aimed at him as they hissed threateningly, yet none dared advance another inch.

They could sense the destructive energy contained within the bomb, enough to reduce their core to ashes.

"Afraid, are you..." Chelast's low, hoarse voice came through his Helmet's speaker, edged with cold mockery.

He slowly brought the Incendiary Bomb a little closer to the throbbing wound, and the vines immediately thrashed even more violently.

"You soul-defiling xenos bastard... so even you know fear?"

"Hissss!!!"

The sound of the vines scraping against one another grew sharper and more piercing, as though the consciousness of the entire space station were roaring in fury and despair.

Chelast knew this standoff would not last long. This xenos monster would never simply wait to die. It was gathering its strength, or searching for the slightest opening, preparing to unleash a devastating strike.

I can't wait any longer!

Just as several of the thickest vines seemed to find an angle and lunged at his bomb-holding wrist from below and to the side, like vipers darting from their holes, a cold gleam flashed in Chelast's eyes!

"Die, xenos bastard!"

He roared, moving as fast as lightning!

Instead of throwing the bomb, he aimed for the deepest fissure his Chainsword had cut into the trunk and, with every ounce of his strength, violently shoved the entire incendiary bomb inside!

Straight into the giant Tree's main trunk!

The next second, without even looking
