A deafening roar erupted through the metal corridor, filled with pure, undisguised bloodlust.
More than a dozen exceptionally hulking Ork Warbosses, their muscles knotted like ancient Tree roots and their armor crudely cobbled together from steel plates and beast bones, poured out of intersections, maintenance passages, and even breaches in the ceiling, instantly trapping Lorgar in the middle of the corridor.
Their eyes burned with the excitement and savagery of spotting a "big humie." They brandished enormous Choppas, Power Klaws, Chainaxes, and even massive clubs fashioned from entire metal beams, all caked with dried green, red, and unidentifiable stains.
Facing a ferocious encirclement powerful enough to shake the earth, Lorgar merely turned slightly, calmly sweeping his gaze over the roaring green brutes. The corner of his mouth lifted almost imperceptibly into a nearly contemptuous smile.
He did not even reach for the ancient Greatsword on his back.
Only when the first Ork Warboss howled and swung a door-sized Choppa down at his head did Lorgar move.
No dodge. No block.
He simply stepped half a pace forward, clenched his right fist, and delivered a clean, decisive uppercut.
BANG!!!
His fist struck the Ork Warboss's crudely armored chin, but the resulting sound was not the crack of bone. It was a deeper, explosive thud.
The Ork Warboss's massive body arched upward. Its Choppa flew from its grip, and its entire head snapped backward at a grotesque angle. Its neck bones shattered instantly, and green blood mixed with broken teeth sprayed from its gaping mouth.
Before it could let out a second roar, it crashed to the ground like a boneless sack, kicking up a cloud of dust.
The second Ork Warboss's Power Klaw swept in from the side with an air-rending shriek.
