Planet: Lycaeus
A silent, gloomy moon slowly orbited the gas giant Kiavahr like a servant attending its master.
It was a rocky world rich in rare minerals, an indispensable storehouse of raw materials and primary processing base for the vast industrial system of the Forge World Kiavahr.
Originally, Lycaeus had no permanent inhabitants.
Later, exiles, indentured slaves, and hardened criminals from the Forge World Kiavahr were shipped there in batches.
They lived beneath hastily constructed, crude metal domes that barely maintained air pressure and temperature, eking out an existence under the looming threat of the merciless vacuum of space and deadly radiation.
The only "value" these abandoned souls possessed lay in descending into vast, deep mining pits like sores on the planet's surface, performing tedious and dangerous excavation work day after day under the close watch of heavily armed subterranean overseers from Kiavahr.
Over time, Lycaeus took on its definitive form.
It was a barren, desolate sphere of airless rock, its surface covered with enormous mining structures sustained by Force Field, crisscrossing networks of transport pipelines, and residential and industrial domes scattered like gray Pustules.
Together with its parent world Kiavahr, its industrial capacity produced weapons, equipment, and war machines in quantities almost comparable to those of a medium-sized Forge World.
At that moment, an enormous, majestic vessel shimmering with a pale golden sheen hung silently in synchronous orbit above the gloomy moon.
It was the Emperor's Golden Dream, the Gloriana-class Battleship belonging exclusively to the Master of Mankind.
Soon afterward, unnatural ripples spread through space as three vast fleets successively completed their passage through the Warp, emerged into realspace, and swiftly rendezvoused with the Emperor's Golden Dream.
Three Gloriana-class Battleships, each markedly different in style but equally imposing, joined the orbit around Lycaeus like three great beasts emerging from
