An urgent, clear voice cut through the battlefield din and communications interference like a sword cleaving through the gloom, piercing his Helmet's private command channel!
It was Loken! Calling from orbit! Communications had actually been restored at this critical moment!
"Emperor above!" Eidolon growled almost reflexively, overwhelmed by the sudden thrill of salvation.
He quickly steadied himself and spoke urgently. "Loken! Where are you? We're east of the landing point..."
"Cut the chatter!"
Loken's voice was decisive, cutting him off.
"Mark your exact coordinates on the shared tactical map, immediately! Then everyone, get into the strongest defensive posture you can! Get behind rocks, find cover, get down! Now!"
Eidolon froze for a moment. Loken wanted their coordinates shared and everyone behind cover? This was nothing like the standard preparations for an airdrop or fire support...
Wait. An extraordinarily bold, almost insane thought flashed through his mind like lightning.
He suddenly understood what Loken intended to do!

At the same time, his voice thundered at maximum volume over the unit-wide communications. **"Everyone! On my command! Cease fire immediately! Abandon your positions! Fall back! Get behind the thickest rocks in
