"Warriors of the Legion!"
Vulkan's voice was like lava churning deep within the earth, low and weighty, yet carrying a heat that could ignite the soul.
He stood upon the magnificent bridge of the Fireforged, his immense figure almost filling the space before the main Observation Window.
His red eyes swept over the assembled company captains, officers, and elite veterans below. Each glance struck like a hammer against wills already as hard as steel.
He wore no ornate armour meant for battle, only a plain smithing apron stained with perpetual soot and scorch marks from metal. Beneath its rough leather were arms capable of shouldering mountains and a chest covered in ancient battle scars.
Now he raised the warhammer Dawnbringer high and called out to his warriors:
"From the darkness of the void, we have caught a faint distress signal!"
Amplified through the speakers, Vulkan's voice became rolling thunder, sweeping through every corner of the bridge, penetrating thick bulkheads, and reaching every escort frigate, every barracks, and the depths of every Salamander's soul.
"A human colony called Hope Star is being ravaged by an unknown xenos force! Its people are weeping, its lands are burning, and its skies are shrouded in the enemy's shadow!"
"They cry out to us for help! To the Emperor's swords, to the sons of Nocturne!"
"Then how shall we answer?"
"With fire! With steel! With our oaths!"
"With protection! With destruction! With Vulkan's mercy!"
Warmth and approval appeared on Vulkan's face. He raised Dawnbringer once more, and the light upon its head suddenly blazed, as though it had truly become a miniature sun piercing the gloom within the warship.
