"The Cabal's base keeps moving. It's hard to track down."

Nibelung's voice echoed through the conference room, carrying the matter-of-fact calm of someone long accustomed to it.

He stood before the enormous star chart that occupied an entire wall, the hem of his black trench coat swaying slightly as he raised his hand.

He held up his hand and touched the star chart glowing blue before him, then marked several planets on it.

"And the Cabal's ships are equipped with a spatial device. It's an ancient technology, one that existed long before humanity was born."

"This technology allows the base to remain within a small dimension, like a flea hiding in the folds of clothing. If you don't know where it is, if you don't know how to 'see' it, you could exhaust every conventional method and still never find it."

"An auspex can't scan it, psychic detection can't pick it up, and Warp divination can't pinpoint it, because it isn't in the main Materium at all. It's right there, before your eyes, but you'll never find it."

As he spoke, he marked one red dot after another on the star chart.

His movements were precise and decisive, as though those coordinates had long since been etched into his memory and all he had to do was point them out.

The red dots lit up one by one like stars on the chart, scattered across every corner of the Milky Way Galaxy. Most clustered near one death world or another—abandoned, barren planets marked "worthless" in the Imperium's archives.

Others lay around ancient planets, silent worlds that had existed for millions of years before humanity set foot in the galaxy, bearing witness to the rise and fall of countless civilizations.
