Heimdall strode forward, his footsteps ringing heavy and powerful against the metal floor. Every step came with a teeth-grating crunch beneath his boots.
Under the weight of his Terminator Armour, the bones of the dead mortal rebels littering the floor shattered instantly. Their flesh was crushed to pulp, leaving shocking streaks of dark red across the floor.
He left a trail of bloody footprints and mangled flesh in his wake, gleaming harshly beneath the dim lights.
Countless mortal rebels dissolved into bloody mist as they struggled. Before a Space Marine, their lives were as fragile as ants. Their weapons could not penetrate Terminator Armour, and their courage became despairing screams in the face of an absolute disparity in strength.
"The map shows the Anti-Aircraft Position is right next door." A Legion sergeant's voice sounded over the communications channel as he scanned the tactical display beside him, checking the distance and route between their current position and the objective.
"Assault!"
The instant Heimdall gave the order, two Space Marines hurried to the wall.
One took two Melta Bombs from the tactical pouch at his waist, while the other quickly searched the wall for the best places to set them.
Their fingers traced the cold metal wall, locating its load-bearing beams and structural supports. They then secured the Melta Bombs to its surface and set the detonation parameters.
"Fall back."
Heimdall's voice sounded over the communications channel, and he was the first to move behind cover.
It was a makeshift barricade of collapsed concrete blocks and metal framing, enough to withstand the blast wave and fragments from the Melta Bombs.
The surrounding Legion warriors immediately took cover as well, crouching down to await the explosion.
