Calth
Calth was one of Ultramar's most important planets, ranking alongside Macragge, Salamanders, Konor, Oculus, Axe, and Amatol.
Its strategic importance was immense, its economic value incalculable, and its name was known in every corner of Ultramar.
Calth's appearance was unremarkable. Viewed from orbit, its surface was a monotonous grayish brown.
First-time visitors often dismissed it because of its plain exterior, believing it to be nothing more than an insignificant death world.
But that appearance was deeply deceptive.
In truth, Calth was one of the most productive worlds in Ultramar.
Its wealth lay not on the surface but underground—beneath those seemingly barren layers of rock lay a vast and prosperous subterranean kingdom.
Hundreds of millions of people lived in those immense cavern cities. Their factories operated day and night, the roar of machinery echoing underground as they produced every kind of supply Ultramar required.
From weapons and Ammunition to civilian goods, from building materials to precision instruments, there was almost nothing Calth's factories could not manufacture.
Its orbital shipyards were renowned throughout the Imperium. Their immense docks hung in space like steel behemoths, constructing dozens of warships at once, with everything from nimble escort frigates to towering Battleships.
Above Calth, an enormous orbital platform hung silently in space.
It was a colossal artificial structure more than tens of kilometers across, assembled from countless metal modules, its surface covered in gun emplacements and sensor arrays.
It was the heart of Calth's defenses, equipped with numerous lance batteries and torpedo tubes, the first line of Defense Line against any invasion of the planet.
Its Void Shield Generator could withstand the combined salvo of an entire Fleet, while its weapons systems could exact a devastating price from any invader.
And this was the place Ferrus Manus,
