As dozens of hours passed, the temperature on Planet's surface slowly began to fall. Water vapor rising through the toxic atmosphere began to condense again, and torrential rain lashed the entire Planet.

The ground that had solidified under the effects of the ice meteors gradually took on the color of a mixture of glass crystals and metal.

Scalding steam erupted everywhere, rapidly condensing when it reached the cold regions piled with ice meteors. Water began collecting in shallow depressions on the surface, then boiled again, continuously releasing enormous amounts of heat.

Once all the meteors had melted completely, toxic artificial lakes appeared across Planet's surface, their strangely colored waters laden with various heavy metals.

A large transport aircraft carrying several Servitors detached from a Transport Ship's cargo hold and successfully reached Planet's surface, where the average temperature exceeded ninety degrees.

Although many areas had yet to cool, the ground beside these steaming artificial lakes had already hardened and solidified.

As the hatch opened, a Servitor stepped down onto the ground.

Its metal feet struck the hard surface with crisp clacks.

An auxiliary arm unfolded from its back, and the Cutter mounted on it quickly carved an opening several dozen square centimeters across into the ground.
