Two Dwarfs climbed into the Gyrocopter's cockpit, then deftly started the Anti-gravity Engine.

As it gradually rose into the air, it circled once overhead. Then the Turbofan Engine on either side reconfigured, and powerful blasts of air propelled the vehicle forward at speed.

The massive Transport Aircraft tracked its energy trail, easily following behind the Gyrocopter.

Once they were airborne, Nalt took out the dried algae and mushroom liquor he had snatched from Turisen earlier and cautiously sampled them.

But just as Turisen had said, they tasted no different from what they had eaten at the camp.

Yet that only made Nalt more worried.

Clearly, the other party's technological capabilities seemed far too advanced, even surpassing those of the Natan.

The Dwarfs had no favorable impression of the Imperium, but Nalt knew full well that these visitors might not even be from the Imperium of Man.

As a species of the Milky Way, none of them could avoid dealing with the hegemonic Imperium that occupied the entire galaxy.

Although the Dwarfs had no desire to worship any Emperor or submit to Imperial rule, they recognized the Imperium's emblem.

It was an Aquila.

Apart from a string of strange symbols, the mechanical bodies before them bore no Imperial markings whatsoever.

Of all the peoples in the Milky Way, the Votann hated Orks most, followed by the Imperium of Man itself, then the Adeptus Mechanicus within the Imperium.

Yet when the Gyrocopter had taken off earlier, Nalt had seen the enormous metal fortress that had crashed on the ground with his own eyes.

Its design did not match any human craft they knew, nor did it resemble anything made by Orks.

Had its weapons been green, he might have thought he had encountered Necrons.

The two aircraft cut across the sky,
