As a Transport Aircraft drew closer, the ship's details became increasingly clear.
Massive domed structures, soaring cathedral spires, enormous Macro-cannon arrays and Lance Batteries, and that gigantic Ultramarines insignia.
"Is that really the Macragge's Honour?!" Exclamations rose from the Space Wolves and Tech-Priests.
An unusual, enormous platform had already docked with the side of the colossal ship.
All the Transport Aircraft would land on the platform first, then enter the ship through it. Although this seemingly unnecessary extra step puzzled everyone, they did not give it much thought.
Once the personnel and supplies had been transferred onto the platform, the Transport Aircraft detached one after another and returned to the Men of Iron's Transport Ships.
At the Wolf Lord's signal, the Techmarines and Tech-Priests led a squad of Space Wolves aboard first to inspect the ship.
The second group to enter consisted of mortal crew members who had survived aboard the Transport Ships and Battle Barges.
These ordinary people had remained in the rear throughout the fighting, providing ground-based logistical support. Now that they had a ship, its normal operation would still depend on these crew members.
Under the Tech-Priests' guidance, these crew members would take control of the ship.
Yet what they discovered next nearly frightened everyone out of their wits.
"Wolf Lord, this ship... these Iron Clanks..."
"There's a reason those Transport Aircraft didn't take us straight into the Hangar."
One of the Techmarines who had entered first contacted the Wolf Lord, who was still waiting on the docking platform behind them, struggling to find the words.
"What happened?"
The Wolf Lord wore a strange expression, bewildered by the Techmarine's message.
"We just passed through the Landing Port. In the hangar beside it, we saw Thunderhawk Transporters and Thunderhawk Gunships packed to capacity. I found a Cogitator nearby
