As Vulkan's Power Armour caught Iax's attention, a series of tests began without the Lord of Drakes himself knowing.
Iax carefully analysed Vulkan's Power Armour and proposed a comprehensive set of modifications.
With the aid of several Servitors and a host of technologies that even the Lord of Drakes could not understand, the armour that had accompanied him for nearly twenty thousand years underwent a complete overhaul.
Countless ancient technologies were incorporated into it.
These included twin internal Quantum Energy Cores that eliminated the need for a power pack.
Perhaps out of personal preference, perhaps under the influence of his homeworld, Vulkan chose a large number of incendiary weapons from the dazzling list of combat equipment. His Power Armour was fitted with a miniaturised, modified version of the plasma incinerator carried by Destroyer heavy robots, an enhanced deflagration storm gun, and a smart Bolter assault rifle.
As for melee equipment, Vulkan still felt his own hammer worked better.
The once somewhat vulnerable joints were encased in thick structures made from a new alloy, while miniature gravity-control devices allowed the Power Armour, now nearly three times as heavy, to remain just as agile as before.
Artificial muscle bundles reconstructed from ancient technology amplified the Primarch's strength more than tenfold.
With the support of his new Power Armour, Vulkan could even overturn a Leman Russ tank with one hand.
Though this did make the Power Armour look a size larger.
Vulkan had already been tall compared with the other Primarchs, and now, clad in his Power Armour, the Lord of Drakes himself was approaching the size of a Dreadnought.
The massive Power Armour also meant more equipment, including a personal shield, nanorepair devices, an all-environment adaptation module, and a medical module containing three injections of Panacea.
Although the Men of Iron had
