"My lord, the supplies for the Desert Iron Mercenary Group are here."

The general store clerk soon returned, carrying two large bags.

Qing Lin immediately stepped forward to take them. Though she looked frail, she was stronger than she seemed.

"Young Master, miss, please follow me."

With the supplies in hand, Qing Lin sighed in relief and turned to nod at Chu Zhou and Xiao Yi Xian.

The three made their way through Stone Desert City's somewhat disorderly but rugged streets. About fifteen minutes later, they arrived before a residence more neatly laid out than the surrounding buildings.

Two stone sculptures stood at its entrance, one bearing a flag emblazoned with the words "Desert Iron Mercenary Group."

Several tough-looking mercenaries with considerable cultivation stood before the gates. Their eyes grew wary when they saw Qing Lin approaching with two distinguished-looking strangers.

Qing Lin went up to explain the situation to two of the mercenaries. One nodded slightly, then said to Chu Zhou, "Please wait a moment, honored Alchemist. I'll inform the commander."

Once Chu Zhou nodded, the mercenary immediately entered the residence.

Before long, he returned with a middle-aged man beside him.

"I am the Desert Iron Mercenary Group's logistics steward. Honored guests, please follow me." The middle-aged man wore a friendly smile and gestured for them to enter.

"Young Master, miss, Qing Lin will take her leave now." At a signal from the steward, Qing Lin left with the two bags in her arms.

Chu Zhou and Xiao Yi Xian said nothing more and followed the middle-aged man into the Desert Iron Mercenary Group's compound.

The front courtyard was a spacious training ground where many mercenaries were drilling, their shouts ringing out without pause.
