Charle's words left not only the Dark Wizards stunned, but Tonks beside him as well.
She could not help but speak up.
"Charle, we should leave quickly. This is Knockturn Alley. It's too dangerous!"
Before she finished speaking, Charle glanced at her.
"You're this weak, and you think you can tell me what to do?"
With a flick of his Wand, the ground beneath Tonks churned as well, turning into a swamp that swallowed her up.
Charle nodded in satisfaction.
This way, when he robbed the Dark Wizards of Knockturn Alley later, he would not have to worry about Tonks, this precious material, escaping. Nor would he have to worry about this woman causing any trouble.
He had learned this from watching countless movies in his previous life. When doing something big, one had to eliminate every possible source of interference and avoid all accidents!
Then, his Wand once again pointed at the Dark Wizards.
"Are you calling people over or not?"
The Dark Wizards all wore dazed expressions, as though they were dreaming.
After exchanging glances, their eyes conveyed the exact same thought.
"Why did we have to provoke him?"
"Running into such a ruthless character, we must have had eight lifetimes of bad luck!"
But they were Dark Wizards, after all, and had no moral burden to speak of.
Facing Charle's Wand and the Transfiguration Mud that was gradually making them suffocate, they nodded without hesitation.
One of the Dark Wizards retrieved his Wand and obediently sent a Dark Wizard coded message into Knockturn Alley as Charle instructed. Then he carefully set down his Wand and looked at Charle, a malicious glint flashing through his eyes.
"Lord Charle, I did as you said."
"Soon, all our friends and family will be here."
The other Dark Wizards trapped in the mud also had cold glints churning in the depths of their eyes.
This was Knockturn Alley, where who knew how many Dark Wizards came and went.
They refused to believe that Charle, a mere young wizard, could truly suppress all of Knockturn Alley.
Once more and more Dark Wizards from Knockturn Alley arrived, Charle would certainly be defeated.
When that time came, they swore they would repay Charle's actions a hundredfold!
At that moment, several figures in black robes hurried over from within Knockturn Alley, discussing the coded message that had flown into the alley moments earlier.
"A chance to get rich?"
"Charle has been caught?"
"Where is he?!"
When they saw Charle standing alone at the entrance of Knockturn Alley, the arriving Dark Wizards were overjoyed, their eyes filled with greed.
"It really is Charle?"
"This enormous fortune has fallen into our laps?!"
But the next moment, the domain of the Dust-Free Land spread out once more, enveloping them.
Several branches transformed into ropes and wrapped around them before giving them a savage fling.
With a splash, the Dark Wizards were hurled into the mud as well, sending mud flying everywhere.
Their Wands and the Magical Items they carried scattered across the ground, becoming Charle's spoils of war.
Charle pointed his Wand at them and said coldly.
"Keep calling people from deeper in Knockturn Alley."
"Otherwise, while I may not know the Cruciatus Curse, I guarantee being drowned alive in muddy water won't feel any better."
The newly arrived Dark Wizards looked utterly stunned, but they quickly recognized the situation for what it was.
Several more coded messages shot toward the depths of Knockturn Alley.
"Come quickly!"
"This Charle has so many good things on him! We can't take it all for ourselves. The few of us can't possibly swallow it all. Everyone, come get rich together!"
"Dark Wizards don't lie to Dark Wizards!"
The successive coded messages streaking through the air broke the silence of Knockturn Alley.
At night, shadowy figures began to appear throughout Knockturn Alley, making it almost as lively as Diagon Alley during the day!
But what greeted these Dark Wizards who wanted to get rich was not glittering Galleons, but Charle's nearly unbeatable combination of the Dust-Free Land Curse and Transfiguration Mud.
In just over ten minutes, the entrance to Knockturn Alley was covered in swampland, densely packed with Dark Wizards Charle had planted there.
Charle had collected nearly thirty Wands alone!
Other miscellaneous Dark Magic Items lay scattered everywhere, including several items comparable to Acromantula Venom!
Looking at these gains, Charle took a deep breath and gazed at the gloomy, deep Knockturn Alley before him as though he were looking upon some sacred land.
Buying things elsewhere required money, but robbing Dark Wizards in Knockturn Alley did not even cost a single coin.
Was there any better place in the Wizarding World?
In Charle's heart, Knockturn Alley was now second only to Dream R'lyeh!
However, Charle swept his gaze over the Dark Wizards planted in the mud and felt deeply dissatisfied with their numbers.
"Why are there so few of you?"
"Knockturn Alley is so big and so deep. There are this many doors and windows, yet only around thirty Dark Wizards came out?"
"Surely not!"
His gaze swept toward Knockturn Alley.
"In other words, there are still quite a few Dark Wizards who haven't come out?"
Charle was extremely displeased by this.
"What's going on here?"
"As Dark Wizards, enormous fortune has been delivered right to your doorstep, yet you refuse to come out? That's a serious lack of professional ethics."
"If you keep refusing to come out, I'll go in and search every house one by one, you know?"
Then Charle waved his Wand, releasing the Middle-aged Dark Wizard from the mud and conjuring ropes to bind him tightly.
"I, Charle, am kindhearted. I can't bear to see the Dark Wizards of Knockturn Alley living in poverty, so I have no choice but to deliver the goods to your door."
"You'll take me inside and identify them house by house."
By then, after witnessing one Dark Wizard after another being planted into the mud by Charle like potatoes, the Middle-aged Dark Wizard's eyes had already lost their light.
To him, Charle was simply a monster. He had been frightened out of his wits!
Besides, being planted in the mud and living in constant terror that the muck could swallow him at any moment had drained away what little courage he possessed.
The Middle-aged Dark Wizard obediently led Charle into Knockturn Alley and began identifying Dark Wizards house by house.
He pointed at a door.
"Here. A Dark Wizard lives here. He didn't come out."
Charle grinned and called from outside the door.
"Open the door, Mr. Dark Wizard. Please open the door."
"I'm here to deliver fortune to you."
A muffled voice came from inside. Even through the door, the wariness and fear in it were obvious.
"No need. I don't need it."
"I'm used to being poor. Being a little poorer isn't so bad."
"Thank you for your kindness..."
The next moment, Charle pointed his Wand at the door.
"Accio."
The Unlocking Charm, a spell even first-year Hogwarts students learned.
With the amount of magical knowledge Charle possessed after numerous simulations in the Deep Blue System, he had only needed to casually flip through a beginner spellbook to use it proficiently.
But when the Unlocking Charm struck the lock, the door did not open.
The Middle-aged Dark Wizard explained.
"Every door and window in Knockturn Alley can defend against the Unlocking Charm."
"After all, no one here wants to leave once and come back to find their home turned upside down."
A sigh of relief also came from behind the door.
"That's right. I even specially reinforced this door. You can't open it."
"Mr. Charle, I really don't want this chance to get rich. You should give it to someone else!"
Charle took a deep breath.
"You don't want it?"
"I came all this way to deliver you a chance to get rich, and you don't want it?"
"Are you trying to trample on my kindness and goodwill?!"
"Kindness should not be repaid like this!"
Then Charle quietly recited the incantation for the High-Frequency Laser Curse.
A bright, dazzling laser shot from Charle's Wand.
The laser, capable of easily melting and cutting steel, sliced a huge opening through the door before him as easily as cutting tofu, revealing the Dark Wizard inside, whose face was still filled with bewilderment and terror.
Before he could cast a spell, Charle flicked his Wand. The cluttered odds and ends inside the house transformed under Transfiguration, suspending the Dark Wizard in midair, while his Wand and every Magical Item he possessed fell out.
Charle turned to the Middle-aged Dark Wizard.
"Next house."
The Middle-aged Dark Wizard's gaze grew increasingly reverent as he obediently led Charle from house to house through Knockturn Alley.
The dazzling laser barely stopped throughout Knockturn Alley.
The frightened, terrified cries of the Dark Wizards echoed through Knockturn Alley's night sky, but outside the alley, there was only silence.
Inside a bar in Knockturn Alley, several Dark Wizards hid behind the counter, curled up and trembling.
Among them, someone clenched his Wand and muttered furiously.
"Humiliation! This is utter humiliation!"
"Knockturn Alley, a place that makes people pale at the very mention of it. We, a group of vicious Dark Wizards, were actually crushed by a young wizard, then frightened into hiding behind a bar counter, too scared to come out."
"If word gets out, Dark Wizards from other countries will look down on us!"
"Think about it. If those French Dark Wizards hear about this, will we still be able to hold our heads high?"
The Dark Wizards beside him also felt the same anger upon hearing this.
"Those French bastards? What right do they have!"
"When Grindelwald first rose to power, they were the quickest to surrender. Do they deserve to criticize us?"
"No. We can be looked down on by anyone, but not by those French bastards!"
The Dark Wizard who had spoken first nodded repeatedly.
"That's right. We should go out and kill Charle!"
The Dark Wizards beside him nodded in agreement.
"Yes, that's right. Kill Charle."
"Strongly agreed."
"Since you said it, you go."
The Dark Wizard from before froze.
"If we go, we go together. Why should I go alone?"
"This is for the sake of protecting everyone's reputation!"
The other Dark Wizards were utterly unenthused.
"Forget it. We're not young anymore. What reputation do we even have?"
"When the Death Eaters were recruiting, didn't we all get rejected? We're just a bunch of small fry. Stop treating yourselves like some terrifyingly powerful Dark Wizards who could make children cry at night, all right?"
"What's reputation worth?"
"Let's just hide here and not go out. I don't think Charle will necessarily find us..."
At that moment, a dazzling laser lit up.
The bar's doors and windows, reinforced with protective spells, were effortlessly chopped into pieces by the High-Frequency Laser Curse.
The light illuminated the pale faces of the Dark Wizards cowering behind the counter, as well as Charle's grin, brimming with amusement.
"Ah, there are still a few little mice hiding here."
"I found you!"
