After a cold, mechanical prompt sounded, information about the Eternal Blazing Sun Spell clearly surfaced in Charle's mind.
"A scorching sphere like the sun is released from the tip of the wand. Several seconds later, it erupts with extreme light and heat, destroying and melting everything within its range."
"The Eternal Blazing Sun deals double damage to Dark Creatures, ghosts, dark wizards, and the like..."
"The Eternal Blazing Sun's area of effect is related to the host's magical power and mental strength. When the host's magical power and mental strength are sufficient to sustain it, it may be possible to release a true sun to cover the sky!"
Seeing this description, wild joy churned uncontrollably in Charle's heart.
The magic in the Harry Potter world leaned toward single-target attacks and had no automatic targeting function. Even the Killing Curse required aiming; if it missed, it did no damage at all.
This kind of thing relied too heavily on combat experience. Although Charle had mastered the Lumos spell after repeated simulations, simulations were not actual combat.
He was not confident he could definitely hit Dak.
Therefore, if he had simulated a single-target offensive spell, Charle would still have needed to find an opportunity to improve his accuracy.
But the Eternal Blazing Sun Spell was different. It was an ultimate area-of-effect destructive spell.
As long as Dak was within the blast radius, he would definitely die!
Charle did not believe the Shield Charm could withstand that kind of power.
The killing intent Charle had suppressed for so long began to spread through his heart.
At that moment, after seeing Charle survive several bottles of Sublimation Potion in succession, Dak became even more convinced that Charle's "theory" was correct.
For wizards with the aptitude for sublimation, increasing the concentration and potency of the Sublimation Potion was the true path to sublimation.
He felt that he had seen through everything.
Dak sank into a state of extreme excitement and self-forgetfulness.
His gaze fell upon the materials at hand.
He still had plenty of those deadly poisons.
But the key was the green slime left behind by those ancient beings. After preparing several portions of Sublimation Potion for Charle, its supply had begun to decrease noticeably.
If he continued experimenting like this, Dak felt there would not be much left for him to prepare his own Sublimation Potion.
Thus, after hesitating for a moment, Dak made a decision.
He dumped all the highly poisonous herbs into the cauldron at once, then poured in all the remaining green slime as well.
Very soon, an unprecedentedly thick Sublimation Potion was brewed.
A nauseating stench filled the entire basement.
Holding the bottle of potion, Dak turned to look at Charle, a trace of guilt appearing in his eyes.
"Charle, my friend, I'm sorry, but this Sublimation Potion is for myself."
"I have pursued this for too long. I have no time to wait any longer. Let me take this chance at sublimation first."
"You are still young. You have plenty of opportunities ahead of you."
"You already know the potion's formula. You can buy the other herbs in places like Knockturn Alley. As for the ruins of the ancient beings, R'lyeh—go search for R'lyeh. You will definitely find it."
"I, Darke, will take the first step and wait for you on the other side of sublimation!"
Immediately afterward, a blissful expression appeared on Dak's face as he drained the bottle of Sublimation Potion in one gulp and waited for his sublimation.
Seeing this, a trace of astonishment appeared in Charle's eyes.
He had been planning to pull away while Dak was off guard, then kill him with the Eternal Blazing Sun Spell.
Yet Dak had drunk the Sublimation Potion himself?
Even the "stable" version of that stuff had poisoned so many people to death.
Charle had tricked Dak into heading further and further down the path of increasing its potency and toxicity.
And now Dak had directly maxed out the concentration. It was likely more than ten times stronger than what he had given Charle before.
Could he still survive that?
Even Godzilla would probably croak after drinking it!
Sure enough, pustules had already begun swelling across Dak's body. Then, as though it were melting, it started to twist and transform.
Charle flicked his wrist and swung his wand, easily cutting through the ropes binding him.
After glancing at Dak's current appearance, Charle shuddered and hurried toward the basement exit.
Dak did not try to chase after him. Instead, an indistinct question came from within his twisting, transforming body.
"My friend, why are you leaving?"
"I'm sublimating. I can feel it—I'm truly sublimating!"
"The scenery ahead is so beautiful. Are you sure you do not want to see me with your own eyes?"
By then, Charle had reached the basement door.
The door was locked, and Charle had not learned the Unlocking Charm.
But it did not matter. He had the Laser Spell.
With a wave of his wand, high-frequency lasers burst forth and cut a neat opening through the basement entrance.
Hearing Dak's question, Charle turned around.
In the brief time it had taken him to reach the exit, Dak had already ceased to look human. He had turned into a twisted, writhing mass of flesh. Every clump of flesh seemed to possess a will of its own, constantly squirming like tentacles as it tried to break free from the mass.
They had even begun growing malformed eyes and mouths full of sharp teeth.
The sight was like a painting of hell.
Disgust showed on Charle's face as he raised his wand and aimed at the center of the basement.
"Dak, do you know? From beginning to end, I never told you a single word of truth."
"Everything about sublimation was a lie."
"What awaits you is not the other side, but the hell where you belong!"
Charle swung his wand, and a sphere radiating blazing light floated from its tip toward the center of the basement.
"Eternal Blazing Sun!"
The mass of flesh paused, then erupted with a crazed howl that sounded like countless voices converging.
"No!"
"You lied to me?"
"You lied to me?!"
But in the next moment, Charle ran out of the basement without looking back.
Then, the sphere floated above the mass of flesh Dak had become and erupted with a thunderous blast.
Ultimate light and ultimate heat poured forth, as though a blazing sun had appeared within the basement, annihilating everything.
The traces of evil in that basement, along with Dak's deranged flesh and mind, were all reduced to ashes beneath that blazing sun!
Even Charle, who had run dozens of meters away, could feel the heat wave pouring out from the basement entrance.
Wave after wave of dizziness washed over him, and only one final thought remained in his mind.
"What a fucking welcome gift from the Wizarding World..."
"It's over. It's finally over."
But perhaps it was only an illusion. Within that ultimate light and heat, Charle seemed to faintly hear a voice roaring excitedly.
"My friend, hahaha, I knew you were joking with me. You did not lie to me!"
"I made it! I really made it!"
After that, Charle's vision went dark, and he lost consciousness.
