Background / History

According to Ye Zhiqiu’s recollection of the original story, Dong Qianqiu was the Demon Soul Great White Shark princess Bai Xiuxiu. After taking human form, she lost her memories through overwhelming grief following her parents’ deaths. She was rescued as an apparent orphan and given the name Dong Qianqiu 6.

She lives at an orphanage on Heaven Dou Star and tells Ye that she has been there “as long as I can remember,” avoiding further discussion of her past. She boards at the junior academy during term and returns to the orphanage for summer vacation. After graduation, she moves into Heaven Dou Academy’s intermediate-division dormitories 17 18 29.

Dong Qianqiu’s aloofness initially conceals social uncertainty rather than indifference. She struggles to explain herself, leaves conversations unfinished, and moves away when others come too close. She is intensely competitive and treats defeat as a reason to train harder.
