Clouds Deep, Unknown Place, Arrival in the Far North

Wang Dong'er opened her eyes, and the scene returned to the Star Dou Great Forest.

The Three-Eyed Golden Lion looked at her and shook her head, seemingly absorbing new information.

Then she turned and left.

Seeing the Three-Eyed Golden Lion leave, the Scarlet King stopped pestering them.

"Human, stay away from the Three-Eyed Golden Lion from now on."

With that, the Scarlet King swiftly vanished.

Tang De hurried over and asked, "Young miss, what did that Three-Eyed Golden Lion do to you?"

"Nothing. It was a good thing." Wang Dong'er smiled. At last, she had a way to escape Tang San's control and avoid becoming Tang Wutong.

She examined the map in her mind. The God of Light's inheritance site seemed to be neither on the Douluo Continent nor on the Sun Moon Continent, but on an island out at sea.

Wang Dong'er had never heard of this island. But that didn't matter. As long as it existed, she would eventually find it with this map.

"All right, Uncle Tang De, let's go home."

Wang Dong'er had achieved both of her goals for this trip.

The two headed out of the Star Dou Great Forest.

(Meanwhile, Huo Yuhao was still on his way to the Far North.)

After leaving the Star Dou Great Forest, Tang De took Wang Dong'er into the air and flew swiftly toward Clear Sky Castle.

They flew north, entering the Heaven Dou Empire.

Before long, a steep, rugged mountain peak appeared before Wang Dong'er.

Mountains surrounded the peak, and clouds shrouded the central summit. This place also had a lovely name: Clouds Deep, Unknown Place.

Although their home was already in sight, reaching it would still take some time.

As they approached the main peak, Tang De changed direction and flew upward, climbing steadily until they reached an altitude of two thousand meters.

Just then, several people flew out of the mist. Upon seeing Wang Dong'er and Tang De, they all bowed in greeting.

Disciples always stood guard outside Clear Sky Castle. Outsiders couldn't get in at all.

Above the sea of clouds stood a magnificent castle—Clear Sky Castle.

This was Wang Dong'er's home.

"Hahaha! My darling Dong'er, you're finally back! I've missed you to death!"

A massive figure flew over, appearing before Wang Dong'er in an instant.

"Second Daddy."

Tai Tan couldn't resist trying to hug Wang Dong'er, but she dodged him.

"Hahaha, that's right. You're grown up now. I can't keep hugging you like I did when you were little."

"Come, come! I've prepared some delicious food for you. Big Brother's waiting for you too."

Wang Dong'er entered the castle. At some point, Tang De had already left.

Walking into the dining room, Wang Dong'er saw Niu Tian seated at the head of the table.

"Dong'er, welcome home."

"Big Daddy."

Niu Tian looked at Wang Dong'er, then suddenly frowned slightly. "You've already obtained your third Soul Ring? Didn't we agree that you'd come home to receive a god-bestowed Soul Ring? A god-bestowed Soul Ring would suit you best."

Wang Dong'er said nothing. She desperately wanted to ask whether they knew about her and Tang Wutong. But despite that urge, she didn't voice the question.

She could feel that Big Daddy and Second Daddy's affection for her was genuine. She simply didn't know whether that affection was meant for her or for Tang Wutong.

Wang Dong'er didn't want that affection to shatter too soon.

Seeing the atmosphere grow tense, Tai Tan cut in. "Oh, Big Brother, let it go. As long as Dong'er's happy, who cares where this Soul Ring came from?"

Niu Tian sighed. He couldn't stop Wang Dong'er from doing what she wanted anyway.

"You must be hungry. Come and eat."

"Thank you, Big Daddy."

Wang Dong'er sat down and shared a delicious meal with her two fathers. Everything on the table was something she loved to eat.

During the meal, Tai Tan kept asking Wang Dong'er about what had happened at school.

Wang Dong'er recounted her experiences at school, but skipped over almost everything involving Huo Yuhao.

They certainly wouldn't agree to let her be with Huo Yuhao now. They might even go looking for trouble with him.

For Wang Dong'er, one less complication was better than one more. Once she found the God of Light's inheritance, she could resolve everything bit by bit.

After finishing the meal, Wang Dong'er stood up.

"Big Daddy, Second Daddy, I'm a little tired. I'll go back and rest first."

"Of course, of course. Go get some rest," Tai Tan said. "Your room's already been tidied up. You can go straight in."

Niu Tian nodded. "Go and rest."

Wang Dong'er climbed the stairs and returned to her room.

Opening the door, she found the room exactly as it had been when she'd left a year ago.

She looked out the window. From here, she could see half of Clear Sky Castle and an endless sea of clouds.

Wang Dong'er gazed north, wondering how far Huo Yuhao had gotten.

(Meanwhile, Huo Yuhao was still on his way to the Far North.)

Huo Yuhao traveled north until he reached the northernmost edge of the Heaven Dou Empire.

"Brother Sky Dream, are we almost at the Far North?"

"That's right. A little farther and we'll enter the Far North. But our destination is deep inside it, so we still have quite a distance to go."

Huo Yuhao held out his hands and breathed onto them. His breath turned straight into white frost.

It was already very cold here.

He had put on thick clothing, too. If he went any farther north, he worried he wouldn't be able to withstand it.

"Yuhao, take off your clothes," the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm suddenly said.

"Why would I take off my clothes? In weather this cold, wouldn't I freeze to death?"

"Do you think I'd hurt you? In your current condition, forget what you're wearing—even ten more layers wouldn't protect you from the temperatures in the Far North. Take off your clothes, and I'll give you something to keep you warm."

Huo Yuhao hurriedly stripped off his clothes. Goose bumps immediately rose over his skin, and his body trembled slightly in the freezing wind.

Huo Yuhao looked thin and frail, but once his clothes came off, it was clear he had some flesh on his bones. Wang Dong'er's efforts to feed him over the past year had proved very effective.

"Not a bad physique," the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm complimented him.

"Hurry up! I'm freezing to death."

A white light drifted out of Huo Yuhao's body and enveloped him.

The white light acted like a membrane, keeping the cold outside.

Huo Yuhao realized he wasn't cold at all anymore.

"How amazing!"

"What are you standing around for? Hurry up and get dressed. You aren't planning to go to the Far North like this, are you? Of course, if you want to go naked, I don't mind."

Huo Yuhao hurriedly put his clothes back on. If anyone saw him, they could easily mistake him for a pervert. Still, no other humans would be coming and going in the Far North.

Huo Yuhao put on two layers and stored the rest away. Wearing too much would hinder his movements.

"Let's go. Keep heading north."

Huo Yuhao officially set foot in the Far North.

Looking at the ice and snow ahead, he thought, Wang Dong'er should be in a warm room right now.
