Tang Wulin glanced up at the enormous hammer-shaped emblem outside the Blacksmith Association, then quickened his pace and went inside.
He had only been here once, yet he already felt an indescribable closeness to the place.
After arriving in Eastsea City, the first place that had felt less unfamiliar was neither the academy nor his dormitory, but here. It was also here that he had truly felt, for the first time, that the hammers in his hands were more than a means of earning a living. They were a path forward.
In the lobby, Yun Xiaoling spotted him right away, just as he had expected.
"Tang Wulin, you're finally here."
She hurried out from behind the reception desk, her smile sincere and the curiosity in her eyes entirely undisguised.
Nine years old, and a Level Two Blacksmith.
That was astonishing enough not just in Eastsea City, but across the entire Blacksmith Association. What was more, word had already reached the association that this child's age had even broken a record the headquarters had held for years.
"Hello, Sister Xiaoling," Tang Wulin greeted her politely.
Looking at his slightly flushed little face, Yun Xiaoling couldn't help smiling.
"I heard you passed the Level Two assessment. That's incredible."
As she spoke, she bent down and took a careful look at Tang Wulin. The more she looked, the stranger she found it. However she looked at him, he was simply a neat, quiet little boy. Yet this very child had left so many people in the association stunned.
Tang Wulin grew a little embarrassed, even the tips of his ears turning red.
"Not really. I was just a little lucky."
Yun Xiaoling burst into a giggle.
"You already know how to be modest at your age?" She waved a hand. "Come on, I'll
