Background & History

Nangong Qi is a direct descendant of the Nangong Family, a Longevity-level family from Taisu Star. He calls himself the Nangong Family's foremost prodigy in thousands of years. His grandfather, Nangong Yao, is a mid-stage Longevity Realm cultivator; Nangong Qi's parents were killed by the Xu Family, leaving Nangong Yao's son dead and Nangong Qi as his sole descendant. 336 383 389 391

He first encountered Sheng Huai'an in the starry sea while attempting to escape a Star-Moving Giant Ape after stealing its spiritual fruits. Unable to defeat the beast by himself, he offered Sheng Huai'an a Star Fruit in exchange for assistance. The two fought the ape together and escaped the star domain after Sheng Huai'an killed it. 334 335

After learning Sheng Huai'an's temporary name was “Yanzu,” Nangong Qi began calling him Brother Yanzu and invited him into the Chaos Secret Realm.
