The vanishing shadow paused slightly, then solidified again. The Dark God King raised an eyebrow with interest, looking at a point in the Void as though the God of Destruction's projection stood there.

The Dark God King teased, "Weren't you just defending your successor with such righteous conviction?"
"To be honest," the God of Destruction's voice deepened, his gaze seeming to pierce through the plane and settle on Gu Yue, "we've never tested how many Godhoods a Soul Beast can withstand, have we?"
Gu Yue's heart jolted, and she instinctively covered her chest.
"In the past, it was always one Godhood per person. That was an iron law. But... are Soul Beasts really the same as humans?"
The God of Destruction continued, a hint of curiosity in his tone, "Besides, Tang San bore two Godhoods himself back then. Although his wife played a part in allowing the Sea God and Asura God to coexist, it might also have been because he was a human–beast hybrid."
