Meeting Danzo for the First Time

Seeing that Hatake Sakumo understood what he meant, Qingyun smiled and fearlessly followed the two Root ninja at a sprint.

Before long, the two brought Qingyun to a dark place. "Go inside yourself. If you dare run, you have no idea what the consequences will be."

Qingyun shrugged without a word and walked into the dark passage alone.

The pitch-black passage did not hinder Qingyun at all. He walked straight ahead, and before long, a seated figure appeared before him.

"Greetings, Lord Danzo. May I ask why you summoned me?"

Qingyun could dimly make out a man ahead with the right half of his face wrapped in white cloth and a cross-shaped scar on his chin. His exposed left eye held a vicious look.

But when Qingyun saw Danzo's two arms, he froze for a moment before remembering that, at this point, Danzo had not yet transplanted an artificial arm cultivated using Hashirama cells, much less filled an arm with Sharingan. Overall, he looked like a rather sinister middle-aged man.

"You're Qingyun?"

Danzo spoke after catching sight of Qingyun.

Hearing Danzo's voice, Qingyun frowned. It was hoarse, like the sound of sand grinding together, and extremely unpleasant.

"That's right. Is there something you need me for, Lord Danzo? If not, I still have a mission to finish.

"After all, for a ninja, an impressive mission record can improve his future earnings."

Qingyun spouted nonsense with a perfectly straight face. In the past, he had always been wary of Danzo, afraid that Danzo would discover his secrets, gouge out his eyes, and take him into an operating room, where he would be covered in medical instruments as his secrets were studied. Danzo might even treat him like a lab rat and freely experiment on him with all sorts of forbidden techniques.
