Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Natural-energy-enhanced cultivation 5 Opens the Taiyin Lung Meridian. Natural energy nourishes his Sharingan, cells, and internal force; his physical capabilities more than double.
Basic Swordsmanship acquired 7 Receives the art as a system quest reward and begins practicing with the Azure Edge Sword.
Chakra-control fundamentals 15 Quickly learns tree-climbing and water-walking after initial failures.
Advanced martial arts and medical training 17 Perfects Basic Swordsmanship; reaches advanced mastery of Tai Chi Fist, Quanzhen Swordsmanship, and Golden Wild Goose Technique. Learns Healing, Mystical Palm, and Delicate Illness Extraction.
Refined internal force through treatment 22 Repeated depletion and recovery during hospital work refine his internal force and improve his Mystical Palm proficiency.
Nine Yang internal force; Two-Tomoe Sharingan strengthened 29 Converts his internal force into Nine Yang force, initially reducing its quantity but doubling its quality. A meridian breakthrough nearly produces a third tomoe, which fades when natural energy runs short.
Jonin-scale reserves; Three-Tomoe Sharingan confirmed 37 His internal-force reserves become comparable to a jonin’s chakra. With his Sharingan revealed, ordinary jonin would struggle to escape him.
Fire-enhanced Six Meridian Divine Sword 42 Develops an approximately A-rank attack and makes it more than ten times faster by using attribute-associated meridians.
Ordinary jonin strength; elite-jonin challenge capability 45 Masters eight A-rank Fire and Lightning techniques, Body Flicker, and Shadow Clone. His Three-Tomoe Sharingan lets him challenge an average elite jonin.
Innate realm 49 Opens the Conception and Governing Vessels and all eight extraordinary meridians. His meridians become over three times wider, and his Sharingan’s burden effectively disappears. Grandmaster remains the next nearby realm, not a confirmed attainment here.
Nine Yang true energy 52 Refines the Blood Bodhi’s remaining medicinal power, transforming internal force into much stronger true energy.
Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms mastered 59 Completes the martial art but has not selected a nature transformation to enhance it.
Tai Chi Fist breakthrough 68 Advances through his fight with Might Duy and obtains the Nine Yin Manual and Heaven and Earth Great Shift.
Heaven and Earth Great Shift, levels one–six 69 Rapidly masters the first six levels, gaining precise bodily and energy control. Stored natural energy begins merging with Nine Yang true energy.
Balanced Nine Yin–Nine Yang true energy; developing Mangekyō 70 Nine Yin force becomes true energy and balances Nine Yang in a Taiji Bagua pattern. His eyes briefly mutate into moon-and-sun designs, but he cannot yet activate or understand the developing Mangekyō.
“Giving form to the formless” 76 Under Ōnoki’s Dust Release, solidifies his Bagua Diagram and reflects the attack while protecting Minato and Kushina.
Fengshen Leg, first two forms; Six-Tomoe Sharingan confirmed 78 Masters Catching Wind and Capturing Shadows and learns Wind-Wielding Grass. Improved perception keeps pace with his speed; insufficient wind energy blocks the third form.
Flying Immortal from Beyond the Heavens; emerging presence 79 Grasps the technique’s decisive, no-retreat essence. Mito identifies his approach toward understanding “presence.”
Special Jōnin promotion 99 The chapter records his promotion after his wartime service against Sunagakure.
Kage-level self-assessment 113 Judges his unaided strength equivalent to a newly advanced Kage-level fighter. The Peerless Yin-Yang Sword could let him rival seasoned Kage-level opponents.
Mental perception awakened 120 The Marrow-Cleansing Classic grants clear perception within three kilometers and a less distinct, focused reach of about five kilometers.
Fengshen Leg, five forms 122 Learns five of its six forms. The final form requires deeper comprehension of the preceding five, rather than simply more energy.
Wind true energy; active sun-and-moon Mangekyō abilities 150 Purifies Hero Water through his Bagua Diagram, converts wind force into true energy, and unlocks three ocular abilities. Reabsorbing the breakthrough’s flames and ice raises each major eye technique’s stored uses from one to three.
Sage Mode perfected 161 Develops his own senjutsu and enters Sage Mode in under a second. Demonstrates Sage Art: Rasenshuriken.
Earth and Water nature transformations; Ice Release 173 Masters Earth and Water transformation over two years and combines wind with water to produce Ice Release. Further elemental fusion remains difficult.
Cloud true energy; three-point origin returning energy 192 Uses his remaining Blood Bodhi fruits to establish Cloud-Displacing Palm true energy, then fuses cloud, wind, and cold energies into powerful transparent true energy.
Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan; Perfect Susanoo 193 Natural spiritual energy evolves his eyes. He can use ocular techniques without first gathering energy, summon Perfect Susanoo, and transport others through an internal space.
Dragon Vein transformation; Yang Release; Wood Release 208 Gains golden blood, rapid healing, passive natural-energy absorption, and Yang nature transformation. Creates Wood Release and spends two months mastering the techniques in Mito’s scroll.
Five-Clawed Golden Dragon Mode 208 Awakens the dragon in his dantian with a Spirit-Opening Pill and borrows its energy for armor, horns, flight, and powerful flame breath.
Full mastery of sword intent 212 Absorbs battlefield chakra and killing intent while attacking Kirigakure, completing his sword-intent development.
Coordinated Jade Maiden Swordsmanship 219 His combined swordsmanship with Kushina can rival some S+-rank techniques. The paired swords’ ultimate strike remains unmastered.
Integrated sword and saber mastery 231 A year of Sudden Enlightenment Pill-assisted seclusion produces the Fourteen Swords of Death, two versions of Sword Twenty-Three, and a Sword-and-Saber Combination Technique comparable to Earth-Rank Maha.
Sword heart forged 284 Uses Ten Thousand Swords Return to the Origin to unify his sword intent and form his own sword heart; otherwise makes little combat progress during five years.
Six Paths-level strength; Tenseigan abilities confirmed 287 His raw strength rivals Six Paths level, while his full power exceeds peak Six Paths fighters such as Hagoromo and Hamura. His forehead pupil has absorbed the moon’s Giant Tenseigan.
Longevity Art cultivation begun 289 Opens hidden meridians, further purifies his black-and-white true energy, and starts producing metal-attribute energy. Its ultimate chaos-energy fusion is not yet documented.
Complete Golden Dragon integration 324 Formation-supported energy merges the dragon fully with his body. Gains freely activated dragon mode, defensive scales, Dragon Breath, and Divine Dragon Tail Sweep.
Further Tai Chi breakthrough; God of Ōtsutsuki abilities integrated 330 331 His body dissolves into the martial dao golden core during cultivation. He later animates its fragments into a miniature self that cultivates in his dantian and returns across an unknown number of light-years.

Background and History

Previous life and Uchiha expulsion

Qingyun retains memories of a previous life in which he watched Naruto. He recognizes Minato before the boy becomes famous and uses knowledge of the original story to anticipate deaths, political threats, and future enemies. His awareness predates his Mangekyō, despite his later claim to Hiruzen that awakening it restored his past-life memories 3 6 12 87 239.

Born into the Uchiha Clan, Qingyun is expelled after corrupt members attempt to embezzle his survivor benefits. A later investigation identifies Uchiha Ichigo as the person who expelled him on his own authority. Qingyun abandons the Uchiha surname and lives with Minato on the outskirts of the Forest of Death 7 12 34.

Academy and Tsunade’s apprenticeship

At the Academy, Qingyun keeps to himself but repeatedly takes first place. When Uchiha Yungang and Yunshan try to force him out, he defeats them and deliberately emphasizes his separation from their clan, anticipating Hiruzen’s scrutiny 6 7 29.

Hiruzen brings his three disciples to evaluate Qingyun and Minato. Tsunade accepts Qingyun after Hiruzen explains his expulsion and challenges her prejudice toward the Uchiha; Jiraiya takes Minato with Qingyun’s encouragement. Qingyun subsequently studies medicine and becomes the Ninja Hospital’s youngest medical ninja 9 12 17 22.

Wartime service and international reputation

Qingyun helps prepare his friends for combat through traps, explosive-tag exercises, and ambush drills supported by the Sannin. After joining Sakumo’s team, he pushes to move beyond D-rank work. A caravan mission escalates into an encounter with Ōnoki, whose Dust Release Qingyun reflects while shielding Minato and Kushina 45 59 76.

During the war with Sunagakure, Qingyun defeats Rasa twice and acts as bait to lure Chiyo’s forces away, allowing Orochimaru and Jiraiya to destroy frontline supplies. He later returns to the battlefield to protect Tsunade and clashes with Ōnoki again, surviving through swordsmanship, a Blood Bodhi, and Heaven and Earth Great Shift 99 100 105 106.

Reports award him the titles Konoha Sword Immortal and Konoha Thunder God. Iwagakure and Sunagakure permit their ninja to abandon missions rather than face him; his bounty rises to thirty million ryō dead or fifty million alive. Qingyun considers the reports inflated: he escaped Chiyo’s pursuit and forced Ōnoki to withdraw rather than decisively defeating either opponent 112 113.

ANBU and teaching

Qingyun enters ANBU’s Seventh Squad as Greedy Wolf, serving under Cat Demon alongside Might Duy. He later leaves ANBU to teach at the Ninja Academy, where he combines chakra instruction with firm discipline against arrogance and bullying 122 159 160.

His mentorship extends beyond classroom teaching. He trains Shisui, Shizune, Kakashi, and Guy according to their abilities, supports Itachi’s development, and later guides Haku, Neji, Hinata, and Karin. When Fugaku seeks instruction for Itachi, Qingyun makes consideration conditional on eliminating the Uchiha Hawk Faction and eventually transferring clan leadership to Shisui 135 136 219 257 284.

Independent power and Dusk

Following his Dragon Vein cultivation, Qingyun confronts Kirigakure’s army alone to recover a stolen Byakugan. His chakra-draining forest and martial arts kill more than two thousand enemy shinobi before Yagura surrenders. The defeat prompts Ōnoki to withdraw Iwagakure’s forces as well 208 212 213.

Qingyun directs Yahiko to identify recruits for Dusk and later establishes the Flying Fortress as its headquarters. He recruits scientists to work with Amado, expands the fortress’s weapons and space-travel capabilities, and orders Dusk’s first operation: eliminating Kara’s remaining personnel in the shinobi world 231 284 288 289.

His ambitions eventually extend beyond the shinobi world. He plans to follow the invading Ōtsutsuki to their Main Family, later integrates the God of Ōtsutsuki’s abilities, and returns to Konoha to say goodbye to Sakumo. In the latest supplied passage, humanity reveres him as its progenitor, although he remains secluded in his Wooden House 284 331 333 341.

Appearance

  • Hair and physique: Black-haired and well-proportioned after cultivation restores his physical condition. His Innate breakthrough increases his height from roughly 145 to 155 centimeters and grows his hair beyond his waist; he cuts it back to waist length 9 49.
  • Sharingan: Progresses through two, three, and six tomoe before settling into a sun in the left eye and a crescent moon in the right 29 49 78 150 193.
  • Forehead marking: Initially a rotating blue-red mark, later gold and silver. It absorbs cultivation energy but remains unexplained and outside his control during its early appearances 70 120 150 161.
  • Sage Mode: Produces distinctive gold-and-silver facial markings 161.
  • Golden Dragon Mode: Envelops him in golden armor, adds two dragon horns, and creates a cloak bearing a five-clawed golden dragon 208.
  • Blood: Becomes golden and fragrant after absorbing the Dragon Vein 208.

Personality

Qingyun’s apparent laziness conceals a disciplined training routine. He prefers quiet, avoids unwanted social attention, and treats the Will of Fire speech and glorified village histories skeptically. Rather than aspiring to the Hokage position, his early goal is a safe life for himself and his friends 5 6 17 122.

His caution is practical and political. He conceals his cultivation methods and Sharingan, frames his answers to Hiruzen carefully, and trades techniques for useful resources. He can also be experimentally reckless: he deliberately takes a fireball to test Tai Chi’s limits and attempts the dangerous seventh level of Heaven and Earth Great Shift 7 10 14 49 69.

Protection is his main stated reason for seeking strength. Illness, loneliness, and fear shape that ambition, while his foreknowledge makes him especially concerned about Tsunade, Nawaki, and Sakumo. As a teacher, he balances patience with severe survival lessons and refuses to rush young children into strenuous training 23 45 47 68.

As he becomes stronger, Qingyun increasingly seeks worthy opponents and treats combat as a route beyond cultivation bottlenecks. His confidence does not erase his awareness of limits: he distinguishes his actual performance from propaganda and abandons direct resistance when an attack exceeds what he can withstand 105 113 193.

He is affectionate and teasing with those close to him, but prolonged cultivation sometimes takes priority over companionship. After his year-long seclusion, he recognizes that Tsunade and Kushina have cared for both him and Shion without complaint and resolves to repay their devotion 70 150 231.

Abilities & Skills

Cultivation and Natural Energy

Qingyun cultivates internal force and true energy distinct from ordinary chakra, integrating martial arts with the shinobi world’s nature transformations 22 42 213.

  • His Sharingan and cells absorb natural energy during breakthroughs; Dragon Vein absorption later makes this process passive 5 49 208.
  • Nine Yin and Nine Yang true energy circulate together through a Taiji Bagua structure that can refine incoming energy, including Hero Water 70 149 150.
  • Strong, repeatedly nourished meridians let him circulate transformed energy that injures other users 44.
  • The Longevity Art offers a path toward unifying multiple attributes into chaos energy, but only its early cultivation is documented 289.
  • Mental exhaustion remains a limit even when bodily recovery is exceptional 208 231.

Sharingan and Ocular Techniques

His ocular development is driven by natural-energy cultivation rather than solely by emotional trauma. He initially relies mainly on dynamic vision and explicitly recognizes his lack of training in the Sharingan’s other functions 29 59 193.

Ability Applications and limits
Sunset Divine Might Creates a solar disc that destroys targets and leaves lasting solar flames. Only Qingyun’s left eye can reclaim the flames; Flame Seal cannot contain them 150.
Moonset Divine Splendor Seals an injured person in moonlit ice containing a restorative spring. It can restore injuries and vitality while the person’s soul remains in their body 150.
Sun and Moon Shine Together Teleports him to visible sunlit or moonlit places, or to a person or location bearing a Sun-Moon Mark. Greater distance increases expenditure 150.
Sun-Moon Mark Serves as a teleportation destination and lets its bearer signal Qingyun by channeling chakra into it 159.
Perfect Susanoo A half-gold, half-silver avatar with solar flames, healing moonlight, flight, and martial-art amplification. It initially lacks a weapon 193.
Internal transport space Improves his ability to carry others during spatial travel after his Eternal Mangekyō evolution 193.
Forehead pupil Absorbs the moon’s Giant Tenseigan and grants its abilities; later shrouds companions in gray light before group teleportation 287 288.

At their initial awakening, Sunset Divine Might and Moonset Divine Splendor require enough natural energy that each would normally be usable only once every two years. Additional use without reserves threatens his eyesight. Stored spiritual energy bypasses that restriction; his Eternal Mangekyō later removes the need to gather energy before using his ocular techniques 150 193.

Tai Chi Fist and Heaven and Earth Great Shift

  • Tai Chi Fist: Redirects force and returns attacks to their users. Against Hyuga Jun, it sends Gentle Fist chakra back into his own chakra points 9.
  • Early defensive limits: His Tai Chi diagram consumes substantial internal force and cannot fully resist the Great Fireball Technique 10 11.
  • Heaven and Earth Great Shift: Refines force application, bodily control, and energy redirection. It reflects Minato’s Wind Release and later Ōnoki’s Dust Release 69 70 76.
  • High-end limits: Qingyun initially judges Ōnoki’s enhanced Dust Release unsafe to block or reflect directly. He survives the later collision by using a Blood Bodhi before taking control of the remaining barrier 105 106.
  • Incomplete Yin–Yang transformation: Yang Release greatly strengthens Tai Chi Fist, but the absence of Yin nature transformation leaves it incomplete and flawed 219 231 284.

Swordsmanship and Saber Arts

  • Fundamentals: Perfected Basic Swordsmanship remains central to his training and becomes destructive on its own after full sword-intent mastery 17 219.
  • Six Meridian Divine Sword: Projects finger-sword energy; its elemental version produces persistent white flame sustained by chakra. Orochimaru can reproduce the basic technique, but the elemental version injures his meridians 42 44.
  • Six Meridian Sword Formation: Attacks from six directions in the Six-Ding Six-Jia Formation. Its early use requires the Blood Bodhi’s medicinal energy 52 64.
  • Flying Immortal from Beyond the Heavens: An overwhelming, fully committed single strike with no retreat; its lingering sword energy remains dangerous after impact 79.
  • Jade Maiden Swordsmanship: Coordinates with Kushina through their paired cultivation and growing mental connection 219 230.
  • Later creations: Develops the Fourteen Swords of Death, Sentimental Heaven and Earth Sword Twenty-Three, Heaven-Extinguishing Earth-Destroying Sword Twenty-Three, and a powerful Sword-and-Saber Combination Technique 231.
  • Sword heart: Unifies his accumulated sword intent through Ten Thousand Swords Return to the Origin 284.

Movement and Unarmed Martial Arts

  • Golden Wild Goose Technique: Improves speed and agility without hand seals, although its early form is slower than Body Flicker 17.
  • Lingbo Micro-Step: Provides unpredictable footwork; sufficiently powerful wide-area attacks can still eliminate escape routes 37 52 66.
  • Fengshen Leg: Combines cultivation, movement, and kicking techniques. Its six forms culminate in Divine Wind’s Furious Howl, which requires integrating the preceding five 77 122.
  • Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms: A mastered palm art that destroys Yagura’s duplicate and devastates Kaguya fighters 59 213.
  • Cloud-Displacing Palm: Uses twelve forms whose power can draw on gathered clouds; overwhelms the Yuki clan’s combined Ice Release 192 213.
  • Heavenly Mountain Plum-Blossom Hand and Indestructible Diamond Body: Additional arts he studies and incorporates into his training system 121 123.

Elemental Ninjutsu and Senjutsu

  • Possesses all five standard elemental affinities and initially prioritizes Fire and Lightning. His early claim to Yin and Yang Release does not mean he has mastered their nature transformations 14 15 145.
  • Develops Chidori and Chidori Stream; the latter raises his speed to more than five times normal and works with Lingbo Micro-Step 45 66.
  • Uses elemental attacks tactically, including lightning against stone defenses and fire to dry unstable ground 105.
  • Creates Ice Release from wind and water. Yang Release later enables three-energy fusion, Wood Release, and the ability to perform Dust Release 173 208.
  • Develops Sage Mode using solar yang and lunar yin energy. Before completing senjutsu, Rasenshuriken badly injures his hand; afterward, he demonstrates Sage Art: Rasenshuriken 159 160 161.

Medicine and Mental Perception

  • Masters Healing, Mystical Palm, and Delicate Illness Extraction. His early medical proficiency surpasses some medical jonin 17 22.
  • Treats 635 ninja, perfectly completing the system mission “A Healer’s Heart” 24.
  • Ordinary poisons pose little threat after he thoroughly learns Tsunade’s teachings 87.
  • His Heavenly Eye, awakened through the Marrow-Cleansing Classic, senses living things, underground creatures, and chakra clearly within three kilometers; focused perception extends less clearly to about five kilometers 120 123.
  • The Marrow-Cleansing Classic purifies mental power and helps restore it after extreme cultivation fatigue 120 231.

Five-Clawed Golden Dragon

  • Awakens the dragon formed from excess Dragon Vein energy with a Spirit-Opening Pill. The dragon becomes a speaking, childlike companion and calls him “Dada” 208.
  • Borrowed energy grants Golden Dragon Mode, flight, increased strength, and flame breath only somewhat weaker than Sunset Divine Might 208.
  • Complete integration later permits activation at will, defensive dragon scales, Dragon Breath, and Divine Dragon Tail Sweep 324.

System and Instruction

  • Receives techniques, weapons, recipes, and medicinal items through missions and student advancement. Shisui’s breakthroughs repeatedly provide Qingyun with rewards 7 24 173 208.
  • Tailors instruction to constitution and aptitude rather than teaching everyone the same arts 42 70 136.
  • Uses Shadow Clones to maintain Academy teaching while his main body trains 172.
  • Treats live demonstrations as lessons, explaining palm techniques to Guy and hidden weapons to Shizune during the Kirigakure battle 213.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Azure Edge Sword — Conducts chakra exceptionally well and serves as his early training weapon. Destroyed by Ōnoki’s enhanced Dust Release 7 13 106.
  • Crape Myrtle Soft Sword — A system-provided sword examined before his Flying Immortal training 79.
  • Peerless Yin-Yang Sword — Paired weapons with dragon-shaped Yang and phoenix-shaped Yin blades. Qingyun wields the Yang Sword; Kushina trains with the Yin Sword. Their ultimate strike, Love of the Allure, remains a goal 120 174 219.
  • Snow-Drinking Mad Blade — Received with the Eight Forms of the Heavenly Blade after defeating Kirigakure’s force 213.
  • Blood Bodhi fruits — Supply medicinal energy for breakthroughs and otherwise unsustainable attacks. He spends his remaining fruits developing cloud true energy 52 106 192.
  • Buddha’s Smile Wine — A first serving increases a chunin-or-higher ninja’s chakra by at least ten percent but can overwhelm weaker drinkers. He exchanges the recipe for Minato’s access to Flying Thunder God 77.
  • Sudden Enlightenment Pill — Enables broad integration of his cultivation arts during a year of seclusion, at the cost of severe mental exhaustion 231.
  • Spirit-Opening Pill — Used to awaken the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon 208.
  • Golden Inner Armor — Worn while beginning the Longevity Art 289.
  • Five White Zetsu — Obtained from Madara. Qingyun alters and seals their memories to prevent shared awareness from leaking information 193.
  • Flying Fortress — Dusk’s headquarters, upgraded with energy weapons, artificial operators, protective seals, and interstellar-travel capability 284 288 289.
  • Divine Condor — Companion, mount, summoned transport, and prospective partner for coordinated Wind Release attacks 145 208 231.

Relationships

  • Minato Namikaze — Closest early friend, housemate, teammate, and cultivation student. Minato calls him “big brother”; Qingyun shares secret training and obtains Flying Thunder God for him 3 5 7 77.
  • Tsunade — Teacher, protector, and later romantic partner. Their bond begins with sibling-like teasing and mutual promises of protection; she initially keeps their romance private because of their teacher–student history 12 23 176. Qingyun later addresses her among his wives 330 331.
  • Kushina Uzumaki — Friend, teammate, cultivation partner, and romantic companion. She proposes marriage, which he asks to postpone; their Jade Maiden practice develops a mental connection. She supports his relationship with Tsunade 70 145 172 219 230.
  • Miroku — Romantic partner and Shion’s mother. She helps him confront Chimei, and later travels with Qingyun, Tsunade, and Kushina 166 197 284.
  • Shion — Daughter and student. Qingyun tells her martial-hero stories, teaches her Heaven and Earth Great Shift, and later takes a stricter role in her training 231 284 289.
  • Hatake Sakumo — Team leader and trusted teacher. Supports Qingyun’s growth, warns him to prioritize survival, and secretly follows him to protect him during his return to the battlefield 59 77 83 100.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi — Patron and political protector. Investigates Qingyun initially but repeatedly refuses Danzo’s attempts to claim him for Root 7 59 113.
  • Mito Uzumaki — Wary elder, examiner, and powerful sparring opponent. Tests him through a staged kidnapping of Kushina and later recognizes both his kindness and dangerous potential 24 47 52 79.
  • Orochimaru — Technical exchange partner and interested instructor. Trades ninjutsu for Qingyun’s martial arts, while Qingyun remains cautious because of his knowledge of Orochimaru’s future 14 15 44.
  • Jiraiya — Minato’s teacher and Qingyun’s Wind Release instructor; also helps stage survival drills 12 45.
  • Nawaki — Friend and training student. Qingyun’s concern for his survival drives battlefield drills, repeated warnings, and instruction in the Indestructible Diamond Body 42 45 135.
  • Kakashi Hatake and Might Guy — Long-term students with different training paths. Qingyun emphasizes adaptable close combat for Kakashi and sustained taijutsu and palm-art practice for Guy 68 136 158.
  • Shisui Uchiha — Disciple trained in cultivation and swordsmanship; Qingyun’s preferred future Uchiha leader 158 219.
  • Itachi Uchiha — Second disciple. Qingyun later helps him avoid his bloodline illness and approach Super-Kage strength 257 284.
  • Shizune — Tsunade’s entrusted ward and Qingyun’s student. Develops medicine, poison techniques, and hidden-weapon skills under his guidance 159 173 213.
  • Haku, Neji Hyuga, Hinata Hyuga, and Karin — Later disciples. Karin undertakes intelligence work for Yahiko; Hinata develops deep feelings for Qingyun and asks to accompany him when he announces another departure 284 333.
  • Yahiko — Loyal follower and operational leader for Dusk. Qingyun teaches him cultivation and saber arts, sends him recruiting, and assigns him command of the Kara purge 231 289.
  • Nine-Tails — Initially fears that Qingyun could permanently kill it. Qingyun later promises eventual freedom; the beast also helps Kushina learn swordsmanship 52 118 120.
  • Danzo Shimura — Political enemy who repeatedly seeks to recruit or control him. Their conflict hardens into mutual hostility 59 87 118.
  • Ōnoki — Recurring battlefield opponent. Qingyun’s defenses and rapid growth force him to retreat and reassess Konoha’s younger fighters 76 105 106 213.
  • Madara Uchiha — Wary prospective rival. Declines Qingyun’s challenge while weakened, supplies five White Zetsu, and anticipates a future fight at full strength 193 213.
