"Uncle Teuchi, Ayame! Sorry for all the trouble today. You couldn't even open the shop as usual because of me."

Itachi followed behind him and bowed in greeting the moment he saw Teuchi and his daughter.

To be fair, the Uchiha Clan was usually pretty arrogant, but they were still one of Konoha's great clans. Itachi's manners were impeccable.

Teuchi beamed.

He waved a hand at Jin Uchiha. "What trouble? Why'd you bring so much stuff? Go wash your hands. I've just about got everything ready, so let's eat."

Then he turned to Itachi. "Itachi, right? Welcome, welcome. Go wash your hands too. Dinner's almost ready."

Jin Uchiha shrugged.

He was a familiar face here and felt no need to stand on ceremony. He wandered into the Courtyard to wash his hands, with Itachi naturally following behind.

By the time they returned, Teuchi had brought all the food to the table. Once they sat down, he raised his cup.

"Jin, congratulations on becoming a ninja."

"Thanks, Uncle."

As the two clinked cups, Ayame raised her own. "Don't forget me!"

"Right, right."

Jin Uchiha smiled. "Thank you too, Ayame. You worked hard today."

Seeing that Ayame still had her apron on, he knew she must have spent most of the day preparing this celebration for him.
