Right after the three Ino-Shika-Cho clans, Might Guy gave Madara a thumbs-up to make his stance clear. Meanwhile, Kakashi sighed and raised his hand as well.
The Third Hokage had been Kakashi-sensei's teacher's teacher. He had also looked after Kakashi in many ways after the Fourth Hokage's passing, so Kakashi naturally would not oppose the old man's dying wish.
With Kakashi and Guy taking the lead, some of the neutral Jōnin raised their hands too. Before long, aside from a handful of people, most of the Jōnin had agreed to Madara Uchiha becoming the Fifth Hokage.
"If that is the result of the vote, Uchiha Itachi, you will serve as Konoha's acting village leader starting today. I will write to the Daimyo immediately to submit this matter for his approval. Once that approval arrives, you will be Konoha's Fifth Hokage."
Seeing how much support Madara enjoyed, Konoha's two Senior Advisors naturally had no intention of making things difficult for him. After all, he was the successor personally appointed by the Third Hokage, and his past performance showed that he was fully qualified to become Hokage. Their only concern was that he was still a little too young.
"I disagree."
Just as the Fifth Hokage position seemed all but settled, a slightly weathered voice rang out in the meeting room. Everyone turned toward it and saw a smiling, white-haired man who had appeared there without anyone noticing.
The man was Jiraiya, a disciple of the Third Hokage and one of the legendary Sannin.
"Lord Jiraiya? When did you return to the village?"
As one of the Sannin, Jiraiya naturally commanded enormous respect in Konoha. Even Kakashi looked slightly shocked
