By now, the Pokémon had swum one after another to the waterfall beneath the Dragon Gate. The cascading water of energy splashed against the Yellow River as though it were real water.
Yet while this energy could miraculously stir up waves on the surface, many nonaquatic Pokémon could not even touch it.
From a distance, everyone could clearly see that Frogadier was having a much harder time than the other Pokémon.
Though Frogadier was swimming upward just as desperately, it kept slipping back down partway. In this short span alone, the other Pokémon had already pulled more than halfway ahead of it.
By comparison, Seel and Primarina had a much easier time. At least neither had lost its footing and fallen.
The Pokémon swimming at the very front were all fish: a whole swarm of Magikarp, closely followed by Goldeen, Remoraid, Wishiwashi...
These normally weak fish now held an enormous advantage. Without the oppressive force descending from the Dragon Gate bearing down on them, they had a much easier time than the other Pokémon.
"Look! That Psyduck is so fast! It's actually made it into the school of fish!" Suddenly, cries of surprise rose from the crowd.
Looking in the direction the speaker pointed, they saw a yellow Psyduck swimming upward with all its might. Paddling its adorable little legs, it had already reached the school of fish ahead.
It even tilted its head midway and stared blankly at the fish around it, seemingly wondering whether they were edible.
A Goldeen beside it seemed annoyed by the staring, turned its head, and fired a Water Gun straight at it.
Psyduck did not even think to dodge. The blast hit it squarely, knocking it several meters down.
