"What are you?"

Hearing Li Gao's terrified question, Lin Feng fell into thought.

What an interesting question you've asked.

Hearing the thing before him ask that question,

What this man had said at the end sounded exactly like a Nature Spirit seeking recognition.

When Nature Spirits were taking human form, they would borrow human fortune by stopping a "fated person" and asking whether they looked human.

Supposedly, if the person said he looked human, the Nature Spirit would become human, but the person who granted that recognition would lose some of their fortune and suffer one misfortune after another.

If they said no, the spirit's transformation would fail, and it would take its anger out on them, devouring their heart and liver.

Neither outcome was good.

That was why, in ancient times, anyone who encountered such a thing could only resign
