After the Civil War broke out in Kumogakure, the Second Raikage followed Kazemori Masaki's example and released the Konoha prisoners. With the assurances Tobirama had provided, and out of hatred for the Kinkaku and Ginkaku Unit, the Konoha prisoners joined the Civil War, helping Kumogakure Ninja Village quell the unrest more quickly.
While their countries had been enemies, both sides had loathed each other. Yet after fighting Kinkaku and Ginkaku and then taking part in Kumogakure's Civil War, they were astonished to find that much of their mutual hostility had faded. It seemed almost unbelievable.
Perhaps having a common enemy had forced them to work together, and once enemies became allies, the emotional bond between them had deepened into something close to comradeship. At least, that was true for the Kumogakure Ninja and Konoha ninja who had helped one another in battle.
Sora felt the same way. Judging by how this incident had turned out, although Kazemori Masaki had caused her no end of frustration, she was now genuinely grateful to him. Without his caution and decisive action, Kinkaku and Ginkaku might really have achieved their wicked aims.
Sora believed that Kinkaku and Ginkaku could never have overthrown all of Kumogakure Ninja Village, but the village would at least have paid a far heavier price. That possibility had now been averted.
Kazemori Masaki really is an extraordinary man, Sora thought. If only someone like him belonged to Kumogakure Ninja Village instead of Konoha Ninja Village. Perhaps then her village would not have ended up on the losing side. Yes, although peace had been negotiated, the Land of Lightning had undoubtedly lost. It had merely brought the war to a dignified end.
Sora also considered the reasons behind the Land of Lightning's defeat. Perhaps they had not prepared sufficiently for war.
