After nearly two months, the seasonal epidemic in the Land of Rain had finally been brought under control. Although some people were still ill, there would be no more large-scale outbreaks like before, and medication alone would suffice. After one final inspection, Konoha's Medical Team prepared to pack up and return to Konoha Ninja Village.
Just as they had been grateful to the Medical Team during the previous war in the shinobi world, the people of the Land of Rain were deeply grateful to Konoha's Medical Team. When they learned that the team would soon leave, they were reluctant to say goodbye and wished they could stay.
As the person in charge, Senju Risa stepped forward to explain that they were, after all, people of Konoha Ninja Village. They had homes of their own and could not remain in a foreign country forever. Though the people of the Land of Rain understood their position, they still hated to see them go. Some of that reluctance perhaps came from the fear that, once the Medical Team left, no one would remain to treat the epidemic.
Someone raised that very concern, but Senju Risa had already made arrangements for what would follow. She told the people of the Land of Rain that Konoha Ninja Village planned to cooperate with Amegakure Ninja Village to establish a branch hospital. Although no Medical Ninja from Konoha would be stationed there, Konoha's Medical Department would supply the medicine and treatment protocols for the epidemic. Even a branch staffed entirely by ordinary people would be able to fulfill its duties. That way, the people of the Land of Rain would have nothing to worry about even after the Medical Team left.
