Upon hearing that the Antidote research had run into difficulties, Inuzuka Shigeru and the other senior officers at the Medical Camp immediately gathered to discuss the matter. Tsunade explained her findings to everyone, saying that some ingredients in Chiyo's poison came from plants found only in the Land of Wind. To create an Antidote, she would need samples of those plants.
“So we need to enter the Land of Wind and find these plants?” Inuzuka Shigeru asked with a slight frown.
“Yes.” Tsunade nodded. “Without them, I may not be able to make the Antidote. I've already figured out how to neutralize the poison, but I need the ingredients.”
"Can't we substitute medicinal herbs from the Land of Fire? The Nara Clan's medicinal fields should have some rare herbs," Inuzuka Shigeru said thoughtfully.
"It's not impossible, but it would take a very long time. As you know, Uncle Shigeru, the war is pressing. Every day we leave the poison unresolved is another day our forces remain at a disadvantage," Tsunade said.
"Is it really that complicated?"
"You're not a medical ninja, Uncle Shigeru, so you may not understand what finding substitute ingredients involves. They aren't something we can just pick out at random. We'd need to conduct repeated experiments. By my estimate, it could very well take years," Tsunade said seriously.
Hearing that, Inuzuka Shigeru concluded that using other herbs to make the Antidote was out of the question. Years would be far too long. With Sunagakure Ninja Village attacking so aggressively, there was no telling what losses a year's delay would bring. Even their allies might be endangered. They could only accept Tsunade's earlier suggestion, but—
“Infiltrating the Land of Wind isn't particularly difficult. But rare herbs used to make poison would probably be cultivated inside Sunagakure Ninja Village.
