Bunpuku arrived at Ebizo's current residence. The Former Kazekage leaned against the wall as usual. Even with Medical Ninjutsu easing his symptoms, the loss of sensation in nearly half his body still affected him severely. Fortunately, Ebizo could still think clearly.
"I heard the people cheering outside." Before Bunpuku could speak, Ebizo spoke first. With a bitter laugh, he said, "It seems I really did some terrible things over the years. Hardly anyone misses me."
Seeing the misery on Ebizo's face, Bunpuku did not know what to say. During his tenure as Kazekage, Ebizo's methods had been anything but kind. Bunpuku himself had experienced his cold treatment, but he understood Ebizo's position and had no desire for revenge.
"Has Konoha Ninja Village said what they intend to do with me?" Seeing Bunpuku remain silent, Ebizo chuckled softly and changed the subject.
"Yes. They said your actions were not a matter for Sunagakure Ninja Village alone, but for the entire shinobi world. You will stand trial after the war and be held in a prison established in a neutral country," Bunpuku replied.
"A neutral country? Which one? The Land of Rivers, the Land of Rain, or the Land of Grass?" Ebizo asked.
"That isn't clear yet." Bunpuku shook his head. "From what they've told us, it may be the Land of Grass."
"Much as I expected. Well, if I have to spend my remaining years somewhere, the Land of Grass has a pleasant enough environment. Better than the Land of Rain, at least." Ebizo looked relieved.
"Are you willing to accept that outcome?" Bunpuku asked.
"What is there not to accept? Since I've decided to take responsibility for everything, it doesn't matter where I go. In fact, leaving Sunagakure Ninja Village means I won't have to endure everyone's scorn." Ebizo managed
