A day of babysitting
After Shen Shixu and Xiao Jinyi married, most of the people around them had children of their own.
Shen Zexi and Rong Hua had finally gotten together two years earlier, too. His long pursuit of his beloved had given Shen Shixu and the others plenty to tease him about.
Shen Zexi and Rong Hua had adopted a boy abandoned by his parents. They had spent over six months taking him to doctors before finally curing his illness, and he was now three years old.
Xiao Yuanqi and Meng Jiyao's eldest son was five that year, and their younger son was two. She was pregnant with another child, too. Of everyone around them, those two had the most children.
And today, all three children had been dumped on Xiao Jinyi and Shen Shixu to look after.
Why? Because those two were simply too smug. They lived carefree lives together without a single worry, driving the four people who had to look after children every day absolutely mad with envy.
So, after discussing it, they handed the children straight over to the two of them and went out to enjoy some carefree time alone as couples.
Shen Shixu carried his two-year-old nephew in his arms and held his three-year-old nephew's hand, with his five-year-old nephew trailing behind him.
The four of them strolled around the courtyard while Xiao Jinyi went to the kitchen to get them some snacks.
Looking at the three well-behaved little fellows, Shen Shixu thought they did not seem that hard to look after.
Just as he was thinking that, trouble arrived right on cue. His three-year-old nephew, whose hand he was holding, grew unhappy.
