Wild raindrops battered the collapsed buildings. Dark clouds and night dragged each other downward, gunfire drowned out the thunder, and lightning illuminated the dagger in Liu Yi's hand.
Wearing a red Student Council armband, Liu Yi raced through the bushes. Her tall, slender frame concealed terrifying explosive strength. Situ An had only ever seen Qing Ge display that kind of control over his body.
"Looks like you've been through plenty of anomaly events." Situ An braced one hand against the ground and stopped dodging. The investigators sent to retrieve him had arrived, fully armed, and formed a barrier in front of him.
"Is it worth giving your lives to save a devil?" Liu Yi watched their guns, lowered her blade's tip, and slowed down.
"Get back inside the school! Take one more step forward, and we'll consider it an act of aggression!" the investigation team leader at the front barked at Liu Yi.
"Right. There's no point telling you any of this. You're just... tools being deceived and used, too." Liu Yi silently held her knife horizontally in front of her and drew it gently through the air.
Several meters away, the team leader suddenly felt blood flowing from his neck. He looked down. Five claws coated in corpse poison had torn through his blood vessels. At some point, Yan Shaoyu had climbed onto his back.
Living flesh could not withstand ghost creatures. Liu Yi knew this perfectly well, and so did Situ An, but he had no intention of warning anyone.
As the wounded investigators who had still come to rescue him fell one after another, Situ An remained expressionless. He silently counted the seconds, occasionally glancing at the Security personnel fighting the Physical Education Teacher.
When the Physical Education Teacher had nearly pounded the two Security personnel, Zhao
