The Blood Gate's original appearance was no longer recognizable. Investigators were embedded all over its panels, but Zhang Ding could sense something terrifying still hidden within it.
That thing lurked beneath the Investigators' twisted bodies, watching him too.
"This could be tricky." Before Zhang Ding finished speaking, eight thick ghostly arms had seized the edges of the Blood Gate. The Ghost God Gong Xi emerged from the Execution House and stood behind Gao Ming like a towering deity.
Before anyone could warn him, Gong Xi wrapped his arms around the Blood Gate with brute force.
At Gao Ming's command, Gong Xi sank his legs into the bloody mud. His four ghostly faces roared as he tried to wrench the Blood Gate up.
"You really are reckless!" Seeing this, Zhang Ding had no choice but to cooperate with Gao Ming. He sent floodwaters crashing into the points where the Blood Gate connected to the floor. Once he washed away the bloody mud, blood vessels resembling plant roots were exposed.
"The Blood Gate grows into the East District Investigation Bureau building through those black blood vessels."
The vessels extended from the other side of the gate and covered the tenth floor in the real world. Moving this battered Blood Gate would require severing every one of them.
Neither Zhang Ding nor Gao Ming had suitable tools, so they took the most violent approach: forcibly ripping all the blood vessels apart.
The building shook as though it might collapse at any moment. Gao Ming had "uprooted" the Blood Gate at the very heart of the East District Investigation Bureau.
Gao Ming tried to have Gong Xi return to the Execution House, but with the Blood Gate in his arms, he could not even approach Gao Ming's heart, let alone bring the gate inside
