The sharp Guillotine hung beside the cradle, its fate-severing blade ready to fall at any moment.
Gao Ming stood atop the mutated organs, surrounded by monsters stitched together from all manner of parts.
"Back off!"
Gao Ming truly disliked killing, and he had no desire to torment the two doctors. He only wanted to uncover the hospital's secrets and find Situ An's home.
The metal blades on the male doctor's body scraped against one another like saw teeth. His scarlet eyes trembled in their sockets, his expression agonized, as though two opposing forces were tearing him apart from within.
His mouth opened and closed. Suddenly, the blades on his arms plunged into his own shoulders. After this almost masochistic release, he staggered back a step, covered in blood.
A faint plea appeared in the eyes of the female doctor who served as the mother organism. The chains had already pierced her mutated organs. Giving up her resistance meant placing her future in an enemy's hands.
An infant's cries rang out, and the female doctor finally chose to stop resisting.
Gao Ming had intended to kill both doctors outright, but their reactions now made him hesitate.
"There's still some humanity left in them."
Picking up the black-and-white photograph pierced by the Boning Knife, Gao Ming looked at the two doctors. "Your child isn't in that cradle. There's only a Posthumous Photograph from the Shadow World. What did Lu Zang and Situ An tell you before they left?"
The two doctors could no longer communicate normally with people. They merely acted according to some command, their minds completely ruled by obsession.
Receiving no answer, Gao Ming had no choice but to search for one himself. He lifted the blanket in the cradle and, much to his surprise, found another photograph.
