"They seem to have left." Ordinary Gao Ming crawled out from under the bed in the bedroom. He gently opened the wardrobe door, revealing Kind Gao Ming curled up inside, his face full of guilt.
"We couldn't leave while carrying a corpse. This was already the best we could do." Ordinary Gao Ming reached out to Kind Gao Ming, trying hard to comfort him.
"I've always tried to do my best and make everyone around me happy, but all sorts of problems keep coming up..." Kind Gao Ming gripped his own arm tightly. He wasn't actually as cheerful and confident as he appeared. Perhaps kindness came at a price, too.
"I know you want to save everyone. Once we find a safe way out, I'll go with you." Ordinary Gao Ming helped Kind Gao Ming out of the wardrobe. To change the subject, he took out his diary. "If none of this awful stuff had happened, what were you planning to do?"
"There's a school outing tomorrow. I was getting snacks ready to eat on the bus so I could share them with everyone." Kind Gao Ming sighed softly.
"A school outing?" Ordinary Gao Ming looked down at his diary. "I'm supposed to go on that outing tomorrow, too. Even though we made lots of different choices in our earlier lives, it seems all of us were going to attend that outing on July fifteenth."
