The First Team Leader spat out a mouthful of blood. Most of his hair had turned white, the wrinkles on his face had deepened considerably, and the ghost markings on his skin had faded until they were almost invisible.
"What did you encounter Behind the Door?" Liu Yi wanted an answer.
"What appears Behind the Door seems to vary from person to person. When I first entered, I saw corridors collapsing one after another, turning into offices." The First Team Leader struggled to explain. "There were component schematics and model worker honors hanging in those corridors. Those scenes must have been generated from Old Sun's memories, representing his past. The offices that appeared afterward belonged to mine."
"Did you find an exit inside?" That was what the Ghost Story Players around him cared about more.
"I didn't even have time to look. Someone was calling my name in every office, demanding that I handle all sorts of things. Every one of them was something I'd found utterly disgusting and tiresome in the past." The First Team Leader wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. "I started playing the Forbidden Game precisely because I'd had enough of that oppressive, painful life! That was why I became the detestable person I am now!"
The past was not necessarily all despair, but the past Behind the Door in the building seemed to contain nothing but pain.
"You're more trustworthy and dependable than the vast majority of Investigators." Kind Gao Ming supported the First Team Leader. He still had not figured out the difference between Security personnel and Investigators. "I've never thought you were detestable."
After being tormented by his past, the First Team Leader suddenly heard those words from Kind Gao Ming, and a trace of warmth flowed through his heart.
