Before He Jing entered this anomaly event, the Jingtuo God had warned him over and over that he absolutely had to kill Gao Ming and Wan Jie. Now his target was right in front of him, yet he had no desire to attack.

"You have no other choice. Either help me trap the Old Lady, or I'll hold you here until she comes." Painter Gao Ming delivered those utterly shameless words in the gentlest tone.

"What do I need to do?"

"Head downstairs first." Painter Gao Ming led He Jing into a stairway few people knew about. "The clay sculpture will attract the Old Lady. I set a trap in the second elevator on the fourth floor. We'll use the clay sculpture to lure her inside. As long as we hold out until the elevator doors close, she'll be sealed in there for a while."

"What good will sealing her away for a while do? Won't she just keep trying to kill me once she gets out?" He Jing didn't trust Painter Gao Ming at all. He simply had nowhere else to turn.

"The Divine Spirit Statue holds most of Past's faith, so it can disrupt the rules inside the building. I went down to the first floor earlier to study the three doors there. With the clay sculpture, we might be able to break free of the Past God's restraints, shatter the layers of illusions, and escape the apartment building." Painter Gao Ming's words tempted He Jing. "I don't need the clay sculpture. Just take me with you when you leave."

Painter Gao Ming sounded utterly sincere. There was nothing dark in his warm, sunny face. He seemed completely open and free of any scheming.

As they discussed their plan, they reached the fourth floor before they knew it.
