"Who are you looking for?" Doctor Li hadn't expected anyone to come visiting during an Anomaly Event. Normally, he would never have opened the door, but his home was terrifying now too, scarcely any better than outside.
"My son's name is Gao Ming. He still hasn't come home, and that boy never wanders around late at night." The Middle-Aged Woman dressed youthfully, but distinct wrinkles showed at the corners of her eyes. "Someone told us he entered this building. Have you seen him in here?"
"Is the Ming in his name the same character as in 'fate'?" Doctor Li was astonished. He hadn't expected to meet Gao Ming's parents here. The two looked about his own age, and there was nothing abnormal about them.
"Yes! You've seen him?" The middle-aged man immediately grew excited.
"People bring their parents into Anomaly Events now?" Doctor Li pressed his lips together, not daring to speak carelessly. He wouldn't have believed it of anyone else, but Gao Ming was an exception. Back at the Xiangshengyong Apartments, Gao Ming had established a University all on his own.
Doctor Li pondered for a moment, but before he could answer, a baby's cries suddenly came from the bedroom. Ouyang Susu stood holding the child in the shadows beyond the reach of the living room light, her expression rather strange. "Honey, who's outside? It's the middle of the night."
Doctor Li and Ouyang Susu had been married for a long time. Standing with his back to the bedroom door, he wasn't frightened by the terrifying scene before him.
